We had a wonderful experience with our customised wine tour. We had comfortable transport with plenty of space. Covid safe check-ins we all wore our masks before entering and obviously removed it whilst seated during our wine tastings and lunch.
Our driver Alex was not very informative to the entire bus only the seat behind him, it would have been better if everyone was able to join in on his knowledge of the area not just the lucky few up the front.
Our favourite winery was Oakridge Cellar door, the staff member on was wonderful, so knowledgeable, having vegan staff members she was quick to point out what was vegan friendly, which we appreciated. We were sorry that their restaurant was closed for lunch on the day we attended, we would have preferred eating there instead of at Isabella Rochford Estate, they were so busy, we did not receive our complimentary bottle of wine as stated, the staff were all under the pump hardly seen them and it was more café style lunch instead of restaurant standards as stated, a tad disappointing as that's the main enjoyment for our celebration. One option on offer for both vegetarian and vegans. Would give Rochford a miss all together, even our wine tasting seemed rushed. The tasting was very rushed, they weren't even ready for our tasting, ended up in some back room with the door left open unable to even hear the owner talk until we asked him to close the door. Such a let down from the previous tasting.
We ended the day at the Yarra Valley Chocolaterie and we all enjoyed the tastings, such an abundance of choose, no one missed out on the tasting. It was not rushed and everything was well organised. Shopping was brilliant, super friendly knowledgeable staff willing to assist you, it was a great ending to a brilliant day out.
We highly recommend you try this tour, very accommodating, booking was easy and Margo was so helpful from start to finish, happy to book any size tour. Can't thank you enough Yarra Valley Wine Tasting Tours for a very fun filled day out, look forward to seeing you...
Read moreWe booked the "Boutique" winery tour, because it mentioned great small casual wineries like Rob Dolan & Helen & Joey's, I even put in a special request to go to Helen & Joey's. On the day we were only scheduled to visit two of the wineries on the list mentioned on the website, and were booked into Yering Station & Balgownie as the other two, not quite the casual boutique wineries the tour indicates, one is a five star restaurant, cellar door and wedding venue and the other a vast resort. Fortunately I refused to go to Balgownie as I've been there many times before, as I'm sure everyone else has who has ever been on a Yarra Valley wine tour, I would certainly have never booked the tour if I had of know we were going there. The driver did reluctantly accommodate us with an alternative winery which we enjoyed, but the rest of the group had to go to Balgownie. Our tour was supposed to conclude at 5.30 in the city, but we were dropped off at Ringwood, waited for our lift home and drove down to Chelsea and were still sat at home by 5.30. We had 4-5 wineries in the description, we managed the 4. We were however picked up at the beginning of the day pretty much on schedule. I did write a feedback email which was neither acknowledged or replied to. I feel the stress of the day and the false advertising on the website qualifies for a 2 star rating, and I suggest further clarity should be put into your website description...
Read moreWe booked driven indulgence as a surprise 60th birthday gift for my father-in-law. There were 7 guests and we had the best time! We were very impressed both with the service our host George provided and with the experiences we at each of the places we visited. We felt the whole thing was easy-going and the itinerary was relaxed... we even arrived home 2 hours later than planned as George did not attempt to rush us through any of our stops, which involved some amazing wineries, a delicious lunch and some wonderful experiences at a gin distillery and a microbrewery. The highlight of the day was having the opportunity to spend over 2 hours at one winery with both the owner and the head winemaker, tasting their prized wines and chatting about their work and their products in a comfortable, picturesque and relaxed setting. As a host, George was knowledgeable, friendly, professional and accommodating. We thoroughly enjoyed our day and look forward to returning to driven indulgence in the near future to do some further exploring of the region with George as our host! FYI the tour fee supplied bottled water in the bus as well as tastings and lunch however we did bring our own drinks and snacks for the bus ride to and from the Yarra Valley (about...
