Off the Planet Burgers — Restaurant in Melbourne

Found this restaurant on Google after looking for burgers that were normal but also with different options. When we arrived there were a few people there but the kitchen was buzzing with activity due to the many takeaway orders they were receiving. Was nice to see that it was popular. It didn't take to long to order and the staff were friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. My friend asked what was the most popular vegetarian/vegan option and without even having to think about it the staff member responded with the Veg Out. My friend and I believe that given the prices of everything these days or meal was actually very reasonable. We had 2 sides, 2 burgers and 4 drinks, all coming to a total of $70.

The theme and decor of the restaurant were on point and made you felt cosy but it to dinner at the same time. The model space craft and accessories added to the ambiance.

Now the food! I had the Cheeseburger Deluxe, Chips and Gravy, chocolate thick shake and a can of coke. Worth every cent! I'm not a big eater and wow did that meal beat me by a mile. I managed half of the burger and chips. The burger was delicious, dripping with juice and the perfect amount of, well, everything! I'm ready to go again!

My friend had the Veg Out Burger, Mac and cheese Croquettes, Banoffee Milkshake and a bottle of water. He loved his burger and was pretty surprised with the cheese and vege patties. Usually they aren't great in this type of food but he loved them. He also really enjoyed his Mac and cheese Croquettes.

Both milkshakes were amazing and went down way to easy.

Parking was ample in Hall street and you cannot miss the restaurant. It's a beacon against a background of standard buildings and footpaths.

100% I will be coming here again. Maybe the day after this...

We seen these guys on social media so we thought we would give them a go. Burgers looked awesome.

Spoke to Adam on the phone for our reservation, he was awesome from the phone call all the way to our booking when we arrived, really friendly and helpful. Although i feel his kitchen staff maybe owner was putting to much pressure on him, guys your shop is super small we can hear every word being said. I as an owner of a business would be very weary of how your talking out loud to your workers in front of other diners. Adam was doing a great job at the front and i believe you were confusing him more then anything. Adam i shook your hand at the end to let you know that your doing an amazing job, i feel like you needed it brother 💪🏼🙏🏼

As for your burgers….. id say very good, im a burger man myself and make a fair few smash burgers. One thing i can say is your grill wasnt hot enough as it didnt have that real grill chemistry going on with its sear. Chicken burger was on point 💪🏼

Pop corn chicken was good although a few peaces had some uncooked batter as they were stuck together.

A few items didnt come with our order when we dined in, kids Pop Tops and Potato gems but this had been sorted when we left, no big deal.

Overall id be back but wouldn't want to hear the kitchen putting blame back on the front of house staff. You pressured your staff to a point it was getting uncomfortable for myself and other diners as they were also...

Where do I even start! The food is rather mediocre, the patties lack any actual flavour to them, which leads me to believe they could possibly be frozen.

They were originally only open 2 days a week (now 3), which brings into question the freshness of their meat. Would you buy meat every week if you’re only open 2 days, or would you freeze it?

To add to the disappointment, they try to promote with AI generated art, which isn’t just unethical to the environment, but also stealing jobs from real talented artists. Not to mention, the art is ugly.

When I originally pointed this out to them, they deleted all of their AI posts, which was a good thing, a step toward being better. It gave hope.

Unfortunately however, they posted more AI art again recently. This time, when I called them out, they blocked me and turned off their comments.

Honestly, do better.
