Brought a bin that did not work to be returned. This was my first time coming here to return something. Walked in the store expecting to be greeted by someone at the entrance- no one was there. I did not know where the service desk was, so I walked to the lady next to the self checkout and asked where the service desk was. She pointed to where it was but then in a blaming tone said that I should have first talked to the person at the entrance. When I said there was no one - ( by now the person who âshould have beenâ there was there. Actually I saw him walking from inside the store while I was walking towards the self checkout.)- she raised her head and saw the man who should have stood there and told me in a sarcastic way âhe hasnât moved from thereâ- which means you are âlyingâ I walked to this person and told him I wanted to return it. He also said âyou âshouldâ have come to me firstâ. When I told him he was not there he blatantly refused and said âI would have been somewhere hereâ. Again indirectly saying that I was âlyingâ. Finally I made my way to the service desk. After waiting there for quite some time, the lady who talked to the girl who was ahead of me very kindly referring to her as âdarlingâ bluntly asks me âwhat can I do for you?â
Does this mean this store is full of racist people - they plainly think that if you are not âwhiteâ then you are a âthiefâ or âa liarâ?? I wanted to make a complaint to the manager- but then thought what if he/she is the same and would only make...
   Read moreCalled in yesterday27/12 to exchange an item, the lady on the service desk was rude and obnoxious, she made my disabled partner jump through hoops before she could exchange an item, there was no customer service at all. Would kind of understand if we wanted a big refund but we only wanted to exchange for a more expensive item of the same type. The only reason we wanted to exchange was we went to buy a euro bed for a short family visit, when we noticed a similar item at 2/3 the price we thought that would do,after proceeding through the checkout we noticed that the price was not that as advertised on the shelf,when I mentioned this to the lady(trying to be polite) she told us someone must of moved the box, when I politely told her the whole shelf was stocked with this item she looked up at me and said naa before asking very rudely to my partner, ya got I'd. Yes, she asked "ya got id" not may I have some I'd. I would of taken this person's name but it looks like the staff don't wear an I'd badge any more, let alone a uniform, don't even start me on the young girl stocking shelves in a tank top, talk about inappropriate.    Read moreI visited Big W Jesmond to an item that was advertised on Television. I checked online to see if the product was in stock it was. I was welcomed at the door by a lady who was pleasant when I asked where the trolleys were ( it has been a long time since I visited this shop). I had 3 items on my list the 3 Rd being the TV advertised item. I looked in the shelf allocated for those items none on display. This is where my bad experience started, I was looking for a âshop assistant â none to be seen. They donât wear a uniform apparently. I returned to the front of the shop to ask who I could get to assist after explaining that I had checked the shelf I was then referred to another person who asked if I had checked the shelf I said that I wasnât an idiot and that I was becoming annoyed as I had checked availability before I arrived. I was told by this person that she didnât âHave to help meâThere was one left and this had been sold online. I wonât be patronising Big W Jesmond again. No âshop assistantsâ available in store and a staff member who doesnât have to help the customers out the front Shame...
