Crust Pizza Jesmond — Restaurant in Newcastle-Maitland

This crust is open during lunchtime, which is nice as other Crusts in the area aren’t, and sometimes you will get good food. However, out of all the Crusts I’ve ordered from (both in Sydney and the Newcastle/Hunter area), this crust is the most inconsistent.

Sometimes, the food is fine. Other times it is severely undercooked or there is a something that makes is barely edible. It’s just super inconsistent (eg. the herb and garlic squares coming with enough garlic to slay Dracula one week, and basically no garlic the next. Or the peri peri chicken coming with so much capsicum on it that the pizza is literally just a squishy mess of capsicum).

If I’m set on Crust I’ll probably still order from here during lunchtimes as it’s the only Crust in the area open for lunch and it’s not the WORST - sometimes the food is fine and the staff are nice enough most of the time. But it’s such a 50/50 if the food will be ok, so if you set on Crust and are wanting a more consistent experience I’d recommend going to a different one if a different...

They used to make the best pizzas in the town because of their variety in the menu and fresh ingredients. I do not know what happened in the last 6 months or so that the pizza quality has degraded significantly. I ordered a Vietnamese chilly chicken pizza a week ago over phone for pick up and I was given only a chicken and cheese pizza with no other toppings. This week I again ordered the same pizza and to my surprise they gave me a freshly cooked housefly as a bonus in the pizza (pics attached for the proof). I had a bite of that fly along with the pizza and thanks to you guys for that. Your new management/staffs suck especially the ones working at night. Not coming back to you...

Sadly to say l give a 1...for inconsistency. Love crust pizza over other pizza chains, but it is just not consistent. Often get pizza for lunch, and it is always amazing! Thin but crusty base..loads of toppings...cant fault it. But nearly every single time l get it for tea for my family...it is highly disappointing. Hardly any toppings (sparse toppings and not done to the edge of the pizza...lots of edge crust)...chewy, hard to eat base. I understand its same dough..and same oven...but vastly different crust for some reason! Day time staff l give a 5...night...
