Beautiful Noosa National Park. Car park was full at 12n. We managed to drive in circle 3-4 times around the 4hr parking spot before getting one but it is something worth waiting for.
Enjoyed the Palm Grove Walk trail for approx 2.8km (1.4km each way). It was a nice meandering track along with the coastal scenic view. See photo map attached. Our intended destination was Hell's Gate but we will get there next time. However, we passed Boiling Pot, Tea Tree Bay, Dolphin Point, Koala Gulla and Granite Bay. There were a good flow of walkers, joggers and it was a sunny day. Saw a few people sun baking at Tea Tree Bay. Also a good toilet facility about 3/4 way between Tea Tree Bay and Dolphin Point.
The whole walk was a wonderful experience. Noosa local council has done a good job to beautify the place with lots of information, signs and directions. You will not get lost. As it is a very popular spot, start early, hat, sunscreen, sunglasses, water are essential.
Aboriginal word Wunya Ngulum (welcome) to Kabi Kabi Country is one of the beautifully kept secrets in Australia. Thank you Noosa City Council and the gubbi...
Read moreAs you drive into the main area of Noosa and see the beach you think to yourself what a great day it will be. But before even leaving your vehicle this is replaced with a strong sense of wanting to leave as you quickly notice the endless (and unkempt looking) surfing hobos that seem to live in the car park. Not nearly enough parking and the little parking that they have seems to be hogged by the surfers that seem to have nothing better to do with their day/lives - they hang around their vans/vehicles in the car park but won't leave (despite cars going around multiple times searching for a park). The BBQ areas/picnic benches aren't undercover which was disappointing as we couldn't use them because it was raining. The local council needs to hang their collective heads in shame for obviously neglecting this area of Noosa and not addressing the issue of surfers taking up a large part (if not the majority) of the car park. I went there with my family (from Brisbane) but I certainly wouldn't take them there again...
Read moreI love this area. There is direct access to the surf also a number of walking tracks of varying distances offering either coastal views or rainforest experience. Excellent for budding landscape photographers. Just remember to wear good shoes, a hat and take water . A nice place to take your lunch along with many places you can stop and enjoy your surroundings. Several points where you can access the water for a swim, some not so easy with a bit of a climb down the track or over rocks. There is a toilet block a couple of kms in for kids who need to go. Also if the surf is up there are a number of great viewing spots to watch the surfers cranking...
