We visited Rococo after a lovely night out at another venue while taking a wander down Hastings St. I was the only one in the party drinking and others, after letting waitress know did not want anything was offered water to which they said, ok. The restaurant was not full, so it was not as though we were taking up space. I consumed my drink and went to pay, but was informed the water would be $9 Another guest was upset that we were not informed of the cost for water and brought issue up with Manager, to whom was rude and obnoxious, obviously, this antagonised the guest, so I and the guest left. I returned shortly after to get room key from remaining 2 guests to find him abusing them, he then turned on me. I asked very nicely to not speak to me in the manner that he was, however he continued. I then calmly commented , 3 times, the bill had been payed, let it go, he continued berating me, until I walked away. And embarrassed the hell out of the ladies still seated. I would like to point out; the 2 remaining ladies and myself were not responsible for the gentleman’s query at a charge for water. Surely when asking if a table would like water they be given a choice between tap and a $9 bottle. The would like to point out it’s not the cost of the water, it was the fact we were not informed and the treatment from Manager. The Manager should be discussed with his customer service, and treatment of women once the gentleman guest had left. I suggest further training, customer management skills, or just get a new manager that does not feel like he is doing everyone a favour by his pure existence, hop down off his shelf and, find some class and do the job a manager is supposed to do, find an alternative, ensure your customer leaves happy and not shaken up for the evening due to your abominable behaviour. I have only given a 1 star for service, as food was not consumed, and the Manager ruined not only our atmosphere, but I dare say others in proximity, unless they...
Read moreNew Year's Eve Had booked this twelve months ago after seeing the White Night 2016 celebrations and also the year before, so looking forward to a great evening's entertainment with a few good friends.
We ended up going to the $25 session as the $180 per head which we had first booked, seemed very excessive for a dinner with no wine or spirits included.
The communication throughout the last few weeks was poor, with no one contacting us to let us know if there was a 'theme' to the night, after they had promised to contact us for payment and to let us know what the night would have to offer. We ended up contacting them, and were 'told off' that we had not paid as yet !!
Arrived at 9.30 -big queue with people waiting to pay to enter - we had paid, but still had to wait.
Music was terrible with a heavy rap/beat by the DJ - people were leaving and the DJ was so intent on his own entertainment that he failed to see no one was dancing. We did ask if he could put some more upbeat music on, and also spoke to the Maitre D, to no avail. The music did improve over the last half hour leading up to the countdown of the New Year.
Service was very good, girls trying hard to accommodate everyone. My son ordered 3 Event Menu Expresso Martini cocktails =- $18 each. Made out of a jug out the back and were just awful. Please Rococo, if you are going to charge this much money, at least have the waiter make up the cocktail in front of you so you can see what you are getting !! I think Rococo's is a splendid venue but last night they just did not put together a first class show like the last couple of years - complacent...
Read moreNot sure if it was a first time unlucky experience for us but judging by the reviews the floor staff need to work on a few things. It was the middle of the day Saturday, surf festival on packed streets yet the restaurant was very quiet than what I’ve seen so not a lot of tables were filled. Partner dropped our family off so we wouldn’t be late for the booking as you only get a 15 minute grace before they charge you to your card for being late (if the Noosa god himself gifts you with a park close by) Waited for my partner to get a park which took 15-20mins so while waiting for him we declined the first offer of getting drinks then my partner arrived and we waited for someone to serve us. Nothing for a fair while, setting tables walking around talking etc instead fair enough so I got up and asked for drinks order to get taken then they did. Then seen our drinks sitting on the bench waiting to be taken out then another tables order of drinks were up waiting, then another order put next to all the other drinks while staff were walking straight past then we eventually got them. And then waited for them to take our food order. Again. No attentiveness so waited and waited got up again to say we’re ready to the staff standing around the bar talking. Very Pricey for the size portion given. A lot of hype for the place yet did not fill the expectations unfortunately. Staff were friendly but just bit a more attentiveness would have really gone a long way while wanting a nice dining experience for...
