Lotus Village Chinese Takeaway — Local services in South Toowoomba

Ok let’s start off with this. I’m a massive fan of 90’s style Chinese which is what I thought I would be getting.

This is actually my 1st negative review.

The sweet and sour pork - the pork tasted old and the sauce was the oiliest sauce I have ever seen. It stained our stone bench tops as soon as it touched then. In a yellowish type of stain which means oil. The sauce was gross.

Rainbow steak - the chewiest meat I have ever tried. Sauce ok.

BBQ duck rice. I mistook this for bbq duck fried rice. My mistake. But all we received was a few very bony pieces of duck sitting on top of steamed rice. WAY overpriced,

Fried rice - tasted 2 days old. Really crunchy with a “fridge” taste about it.

Probably the worst Chinese food I have ever had. And I have had thousands of Chinese meals.

This is by far out of any fast food, takeaway, or even restaurant food that I’ve ever had in my life. It was so terrible. It was not even edible. When I rang the take away the next day. When they had opened again to let them know and ask if I could have a refund. Even though the food was a day old at that point, they said the only way I could get a refund is if I drove all the way home and then came all the way back into town to show them the food. They would not accept photos. As I am not someone that normally confronts a store, I felt very bad and guilty as it was when they weren’t even willing to try and work with me it was very degrading. I remember this place when I was much younger as being a decent and affordable meal for a family to enjoy so I thought id give it a go. Absolutely terrible food. It's flavourless clear paste with no food hygiene. Service was bad too but the guy looked young so maybe still learning but he didn't talk and when the cook came out he started cleaning the tub right next to where I was trying to fill my container. Everything is far too expensive for what you get. Over $15 for a container and the quality is absolutely not worth it. 'Fried' chicken is fried gristle, rice is dry and flavourless, and the sauces made me feel sick. Not...
