Urth cafe is one of the best cafes I’ve been to but the location of it, is the flaw. Urth cafe has many different options which is really good but is the portions enough?
Firstly the area is pretty nice. It’s nicely decorated and lit. It’s pet and kid friendly. But to find a parking is very hard. Unless you walk from somewhere else the location does not have a great parking if it’s your first time. Belive me I struggled. However the store was still really nice and quite spacious.
The food was really good, some of it needed slightly more flavour. However it was still good. The time for the food was longer than expected even when it’s not busy. So if ur planning to go here make sure you have a long list of things to chat with friends or fam or be prepared for the weight. The portion sizes was not as expected. With the burrito bowl it looks quite big but actually it had less then thought. Although it may look big it wasn’t. Especially for the price of $19 it’s more like a $16 dish cuz it’s smaller. And the wrap was although long it was not very full.
Disclaimer if u go makes sure to get something actually worth the price.
In addition , the workers were nice. Really friendly I enjoyed my experience with them. Overall, cafe was good needs some improvement but Overal really good. 8/10...
Read moreUnprofessional from the moment we walked in. We were ignored so found seats and menus ourselves, ordered at the counter (young girl was nice but didn’t seem to know much but the older ones weren’t helping her either), the coffee was so bad I went back in and ordered a pot of tea, our two meals took nearly 40mins to arrive which is just ludicrous considering the place was empty bar two tables having coffee at the time. The real kicker was the attitude from the older woman (seemed to be in charge/owner) when we went to pay and leave - my goodness - no smile, no thank you, not one iota of hospitality could be spared; she barked at me when I didn’t give her positive feedback on the food and drinks and then arrogantly shrugged her shoulders and said she didn’t know why I didn’t like it because everyone always gives her positive reviews (I’m obviously paraphrasing here).
I see the owner likes to reply with nasty little retorts to negative reviews rather than addressing people’s issues professionally, so it seems the attitude carry’s on outside the kitchen/cafe as well. It’s such a shame because this place has/had such potential.
Oh, and for the quality of everything from the food to the staff -...
Read moreFirst impressions were promising, a nice aesthetic in a great location. Seemingly always busy with a generally good reputation among nearby businesses. Problems begin as soon as you walk through the door. The specials board is located inconveniently in such a manner that it can't be seen from the counter when ordering. Open kitchen is a nice idea, but would work better if there was more working and less talking between staff. Staff did not seem to have had a great morning, based on the manner in which we were greeted. I ordered the toasted chicken wrap (fresh option also available). Overall thoughts are just above not great. The wrap was largely bland, lacking in the rich chicken flavour I was expecting due to the use of unseasoned minced chicken. The level of toastiness was also sub-par with the filling being still cold and cheese barely even starting to melt - a critical element of any toasted wrap. Menu was priced fairly high overall, especially with the sub-standard quality of the food. OTHER MENU ITEMS may be of higher standard, but for this review I cannot rate higher...
