The vintage cafe — Restaurant in Queensland

Visited The Vintage Cafe for lunch over the weekend.

Our initial observations were less-than-favourable, as the cafe is sparsely decorated, somewhat drab, and didn't appear overly inviting. Nevertheless, we'd driven a long way and made the commitment.

Luckily, first impressions aren't always accurate, and things quickly improved. The service was friendly, and meals and drinks were promptly prepared and politely delivered.

We ordered two smoothies as drinks; a banana & honey for me, a mango & passionfruit for my wife. Both were excellent. Flavoursome, creamy, and thoroughly enjoyed. You could clearly identify each flavour, and knew that real ingredients had been used. They were reasonably priced too.

Our meals consisted of the Roasted Veggie Salad for my wife, and the Mushrooms On Toast for me.

Both meals were tasty, well-presented and an acceptable serving size. If anything, my mushrooms were unexpectedly sweet, whereas I was anticipating a savoury herb and garlic offering. That being said, I still genuinely enjoyed them and finished my plate.

We also ordered a side of chips, with plenty of aioli, that too was very good. A decent serve, nicely cooked, and the perfect touch of indulgence alongside our relatively healthy options.

I have to say that it is not my best photo of a hamburger and perhaps the photo does not say anything at first glance, but I must add that the flavor is spectacular, both from the very well seasoned fries and with their sauce that gives a fun touch to it. the food with its mix of flavors, like the hamburger and the seasoning of the chicken, all very well combined. My husband and I made our first contact with the town of Toowoomba yesterday after a long trip and luckily we ended up at this small place with a humble vintage decoration. We ordered two hamburgers to take away since the place where we were staying is 5 minutes away and we had to hurry to attend to other arrangements. In general, the first contact was unexpected and exceeded my expectations ❤️since I am very demanding when it comes to recommending places, but without a doubt I will recommend future travelers who come to this place. We have started going to this cafe weekly for our weekend brunch, after receiving recommendations from multiple other people. Honestly, the food is consistently delicious and fresh, the service is quick, the staff remember you and your orders - they are welcoming, professional, polite and efficient and I have never been disappointed by something I have eaten here. Have started taking my team here for team meeting brunches too. I can highly recommend the pancakes, smashed avo on toast (add eggs), breakfast croissant and eggs bene. My husband has had their chips & steak sandwich before and would highly recommend these too. Their coffee is also consistently good.
