In Toowoomba on a cold day. After reading reviews I was really looking forward to trying the pies. Unfortunately arrived late at 1.40 but still a reasonable variety of pies to choose from. My husband likes a chunky beef pie. He had to settle for 1 with cheese which he said was ok. I donāt like beef pies & always opt for a meat pastie or chicken pie. No pasties but plain chicken or chicken & mushroom. I chose the plain. We also got 2 sausage rolls. Also ok. No where to sit & eat so went to a local park. Couldnāt wait to bite into the warm pie! Oh no! What is that smoky taste? I noticed some little dark spots amongst the small amount of chicken. Thought I may have been given chicken & mushroom. Nope. Grabbed the Pepper Steak pie and Mushroom Beef pie, also the Lamb Mint Rosemary roll, and Blueberries Custard danish. The pastry across all of them was flakey and soft, but not overly buttery. The pepper steak pie was right up there being the best we've had. Mushroom beef pie was solid and won't disappoint. The lamb roll was the best we've ever had cos the aromatic meaty flavour.
