The restaurant is situated in the newly built, modern Club Auburn (Soccer Sports club) which has free underground parking for guests. We found the venue to be modern and a lovely venue for a family celebration dinner or otherwise. We were happy to have found a new place to meet for family get-togethers. Food-wise we found the portions to be generous and great value, and importantly, very good implementations of Cantonese cuisine. Our recommendation is the fresh cooked steamed whole barramundi (with ginger and shallot), beautifully cooked, which we have returned for! We also enjoyed the Chinese style beef which was very tender.
We found seating to be well spaced and so we were very happy that we were not packed in like sardines like many other venues. We also found the noise level to be very moderate which together with lovely high ceilings made the ambience and overall experience pleasant and comfortable. We noticed there are also several rooms which could possibly be for special functions which looked great for...
Read moreStaff were slow and extremely rude. One staff member refused to clean up our previous tables mess and made us sit and wait for 30 minutes while we watched her go around to other tables. We asked her three times to clean up and she did not listen. She served us red bean soup thinking we asked her to serve us food when we just wanted her to clean up the previous tables mess. Another worker told her the situation but she lied saying we asked her to serve the red bean soup. The other worker rushed to clean up the mess and left the table wet and didn’t wipe it clean. She gave us our bowls and they toppled over and asked us to place it around the table. Food takes forever to serve. Been waiting for 45 minutes to one hour for the food. Ever since we walked in the mood has been ruined. Wanted to enjoy a nice family dinner for the Mid-Autumn Festival but were treated terribly. The service...
Read moreHad lunch here in a large group of 30 with a booking on a long weekend. Service was subpar with great difficulty finding wait staff to obtain tea and chilli sauce for the table. Dishes were ordered direct from the kitchen due to the size of the group, with some dishes not turning up after ordering and the carts avoiding the group in total.
The egg tarts and bbq pork pastry were highlights of the meal. Everything else - siu mai, prawn dumpling, chives dumpling, chiu chow dumpling, blood jelly, bbq pork bun, mixed puff with pork, beef rice noodle roll, salted egg bun and mango pudding - was average. Cannot speak to the other food as it never came or we were told they did not have time to cook it (fried rice noodle rolls).
Not in a hurry to return after this first experience, the venue may be better suited to smaller groups as they definitely struggled with our...
