DO NOT HOST A BIRTHDAY PARTY AT CHOUCHOUBEBE AUBURN!!!
The day after my son’s 1st birthday party in January, I sent an email to the admin office to complain about how atrocious the service staff and organisation of the party was. It is now March and I am still yet to receive a reply regarding the matter…
Despite clear communication and arrangements made via email, the tables were not set up as planned (so my family, the decor lady and myself arranged the tables). To make matters worse, a staff member was still cleaning the venue at 6:00 pm (I had the venue booked from 6-9pm) which delayed preparations and gave the impression that the venue was not ready to host an event.
The food service was another major issue. The food, including the children's chicken nuggets and chips, was significantly delayed. My own guest had to step in and set out the food due to the absence of staff. Additionally, there were only 3-4 utensils provided which I had to personally put out and had to go back to the kitchen to request more. This was such a shame given the food was actually quite nice.
When I raised my concerns with the staff, their response was both unprofessional and dismissive. They apologised but blamed the delays on the quantity of food I ordered, insinuating that the fault lay with me rather than the team’s lack of preparedness or insufficient staffing.
Another issue was the air conditioning in the main area was not working, leaving guests extremely uncomfortable. The venue provided only two fans and one evaporative cooler for the entire space, which was wholly inadequate. The high temperature created a dangerous environment, especially for young children. When a family member of mine mentioned this to a staff member, they said the air conditioner was controlled by the centre and walked away rather than trying to help with the situation.
Throughout the night, the staff were nowhere to be seen and appeared to be hiding in the kitchen rather than managing the event. Whenever I did manage to speak to them, they seemed confused and unprofessional, further adding to the frustration of the evening.
Attached is photos of the set up of the party which were organised by Shelly (the balloon decor) and external suppliers for the cake/desserts whom were AMAZING! But the service at the centre was far below the standard I expected- given the importance of the event (which I was unable to...
Read moreDecided to come here early to beat the rush and get the promo of using the entry fee for food which was a plus side. The entry quite expensive the price is on par with the other playcentre that are bigger, more variety and more different sections. Within 5 minutes being there unfortunately I sprained my ankle pretty badly from a thick firm mat when I went to get a donut for the slide. There are a few of these mats around the place which I think are quite hazardous and the one I sprained my ankle on wasn't very visible and also unnecessarily placed, (yet to know whether it is more than a sprain) so I didn't get to enjoy playing with my 2 kids, so my husband had to manage both of the kids, he too nearly rolled his ankle and I saw some kids tripping over these mats. The slide is poorly designed in the middle it is too flat so you got to shimmy down to the next slope. The Web tower is also quite hazardous and too small for adults to go rescue their child, I saw the children sliding through and downwards through the black wide elastic, I could see this as a hazard, small netting would have been more safer. The food was decent temperature for the kids but the adults food was on the cold side. The QR menu was not working, it said the URL wasn't registered, when I asked a staff member she semi acknowledged it and kinda walked away. There was a section for old school gaming for the older kids and dads. And the ball pit is small, the bigger kids would climb ontop of the structure which is about 2m, and jump down onto the ball pit of small kids, very unsafe and noone was there to stop them, the staff didn't seem to care. There should be something to prevent that. There was no section for smaller babies, so I saw a parent just leave her child on a mat in a thoroughfare waiting to...
Read moreThe kids cafe itself is great. It kept my little one entertained and he enjoyed himself a lot. Just be warned though that they’re priced higher compared to other ones I’ve been to especially the food.
I’d suggest eating before coming here because the food is mediocre at best. The only thing I’d rate is their chicken which is fantastic. Prices of their food is insane considering that the food isn’t great. I ordered nachos and they literally used Doritos, popped on salsa from the jar and topped with little bits of cheese that they didn’t even bother melting. We ordered the nachos, a kids chicken plate (that was supposed to have a fruit salad but was just all honey dew), a pizza and a banana bread plus a drink each for myself, my son and husband which all came to around $75 (yes this included the $5 drink voucher you get for each adult). This was JUST food so we paid over $100 for 2 hours plus food that I wished we spent at a restaurant.
Also just want to quickly add that the kids cafe was pretty quiet for a Sunday (maybe 5-6 families including us) and it took 50 mins for our food to come out. This is the first time we had to wait for that long to get out food. We’ve been to other kids cafes that was a full house and still got our food faster.
Don’t get the nachos unless you want to pay $20 for something you can buy from woollies for $10 and probably...
