Throw Clay Studio — Local services in Sydney

My two daughters, 14 and 17 years old and I attended one of Tim's pottery classes and WOW! What a wonderful creative and fun experience this was! Tim was very welcoming and explained the whole pottery process in detail, so we were able to make bowls and cups from scratch. We all absolutely loved the studio, so spacious and we all had are own pottery wheel to work on. Creating pots and cups was pure joy and so good for the soul! The end result was amazing and we didn't think we were able to create this in one morning, but we did! As we were on a holiday, Tim glazed our pottery and posted our pots and cups to Queensland, where we live. It is a shame we do not live close to the studio, otherwise we would definitely be there every week to attend your classes Tim! Thank you so much for this beautiful and creative experience! Thoroughly disappointed with my experience at Throw Clay. It was a waste of my time and money. Tim was our teacher…but he did all the pottery on the wheel while we sat there watching. And when we came back to glaze “our” mug, Tim did all of that too! Then apparently “my mug”, which Tim made….hadn’t survived the kiln!!! Oh but I can came back and watch Tim glaze another for me if I like!!! Tim needs to learn a couple of things: 1. learn how to teach and 2. brush up on what good customer service is. My friends and I LOVED our group date night class with Montana. We learnt several techniques and were able to choose the activities depending on the challenge level. I made a gorgeous mug and was able to use paint and the clay stamps to personalise it. My partner made an espresso cup and coffee bean scoop. Montana was super helpful and friendly.
