Northern Beaches Tadka — Restaurant in Sydney

Told 30 minute pick up, arrived at 35 minutes after placing the order to be told just a minute just packing the order. Then after 5 minutes told it would be an extra 15 minutes. Received the order 1 hour after ordering. When you pay almost $300 for Indian you expect it to be ready when you’re told 30 minutes. The butter chicken was average and the lamb korma bland. They provided papadums as compensation for the wait, spend $300 and get 30c compensation. The onion bhaji was so over cooked it was inedible. Called the restaurant to give feedback and disappointing response was given, not answering for the wait in food and being blamed by the chef. Whether its “the restaurants recipe or my tastebuds” i think its safe to say out of 8 containers and only 2 being consumed the food was below average.

Do not recommend this place, terrible service and bland, flavourless food. Will never...

What do I recommend? Absolutely everything! I loved how enthusiastic the staff were and eager to please. But the absolute highlight is the food. This is Northern Indian cuisine at its best. The Amritsar fish is a must order - very lightly battered and sliced fish pieces - proper street food. There are dishes on this menu that I’ve never seen before. It was so refreshing to be able to order unusual dishes - there’s a choice of 3 goat dishes. We had the traditional curry and it was perfect. The portion sizes are huge and the prices very reasonable. Please make sure you regularly visit Tadka - we all know how hard previous restaurants have had making a go of this location and I’d hate to lose Tadka as it is honestly the best Indian food...

My third meal from these guys within one week and they are amazing. I'm Indian and crave good Indian food since moving to Aus but always have to travel a fair distance for it. But after a really great dine in experience, I've done take away for my favourite dish from them twice after already, just because it's comfort food for me . Their service is absolutely great as well and they go above and beyond normal customer service.

My favourites - chicken tikka, daal makhani and madras chicken ( have yet to try other curries )

Partner loved their lamb seekh kebabs , daal makhani and tandoori chicken.
