Woolworths Deloraine — Local services in Tasmania

To start with the great things. The staff are great, friendly and helpful just as you would expect in a country town. The downside...... often don't have what you need, close early, open late, long checkout queues.... come on Woolies! Deloraine is not the small country town it was 20 years ago, it is a very busy, prosperous and booming town! Time for Woolies to either step up to the plate or for a competitor to move in. (A disclaimer, yes I am a relatively recent move in but have worked in the town for years. And I love the town!)

Edit December 2023. This is getting way beyond a joke.The staff are doing the best they can but it was shockingly bad Friday 1st December 2023 at 5.15pm. Queues a mile long with about 10 mins wait time to be served but still empty registers. Any other business would have done something about it years ago. Just because you have an almost monopoly in the town shouldn't mean you ignore your customer base. My original review now has gone to one star. And that's not a reflection on the staff. It is the senior management and Woolies as a whole. Time for a decent competitor in the town. IGA? Coles? Business is there...

Great supermarket, very impressed! Actually better than city supermarkets in Launceston! The fruit and veg section needs to step up the quality control. The salads are frequently already starting to rot, or must be used that day. The tomatoes are often mouldy and the rest is limp flavourless and looks like it's been sitting out in the sun. The meat is underweight. Yes I would understand if it was a random 1 or 2, but every packet of 'E' weight on the shelf is deliberate. And check your receipts, I am finding with alarming regularity that I have been charged multiple times for single items. Until now I've let it go on the low price items but I won't be doing that anymore. Either most of the younger cashiers need retraining or there is something else going on there. Not impressed. On the positive side, the hours are good. I'd love to see a competitor grocery store open up in Deloraine, maybe that would encourage Woolies to ensure...
