M2 catered our wedding in Feb 2024. Nicki was easy to communicate with, she was helpful and patient with our questions and requests in the lead up to the wedding, and was happy to give advice/suggestions. We enjoyed the tasting where we got to try their delicious food and meet Michael, whoâs clearly passionate about what he does.
We really appreciated their flexibility with guest number changes allowing us to reduce (2 guests) 3 days after the deadline, with some family members getting sick. Unfortunately though, after we had paid the final invoice, we were then told 5 days before our wedding that they were increasing the per adult price due to our reduced numbers from 200 adults in the original quote to 162 adults + 14 kids in the final invoice; a âsliding scaleâ that was apparently part of their terms. This left a very sour note as 1) Nicki only told us this 5 days before our wedding and after we had already paid the final invoice and notified them initially of the actual numbers a month before the wedding and 2) their terms actually only mentioned seasonal produce price increases and nothing about a âsliding scaleâ. As this was so close to our wedding, we didnât want the added stress of going back and forth plus the anxiety that service will be impacted on the day if we questioned and/or didnât pay, so we just ended up paying the additional $690, an amount that is not insignificant. Something to be mindful and ask about if considering this caterer.
The food on our wedding day was delicious, and the canapĂ©s and late night pizza particularly were a hit with some of our guests. Unfortunately though, the reception service was incredibly disappointing. We received disappointing and embarrassing feedback from our guests about how significantly slow the mains were served, particularly the last several tables that still hadnât received their meals until at least an hour later than scheduled, and our guests later told us that they thought they had been forgotten. It was embarrassing to hear that they had to go to other tables (that people they knew were on) to get a bit of food to nibble on as they were hungry. These tables also had guests with dietary restrictions and those who had been served a separate plate had already finished their meals way ahead of the rest of the table.
This then had a domino effect on the rest of the night; because of the big delay of the mainsâ serving, and subsequently, the serving of the vendor meals (again, at least an hour late), this impacted our timelines, and we ended up having to rush, cram, and even remove some items from our runsheet, things that we had planned and were excited about. In addition, this meant that desserts and supper were pretty much served at the same time, which was something M2 had actually advised us to avoid and we updated our runsheet for, so this was disappointing as the tables that were served late were too full from having just eaten their mains, and were not able to enjoy the dessert and supper.
Weâre not sure what caused the delays on the night as we only found out from our guests (rather than the Floor Manager). This was disappointing as we had shared our wedding details - runsheet, no. of guests, floor plans - with them ahead of the wedding. We also double checked the number of waitstaff they had allocated on the night (reduced from 7 staff in initial quote to 4), which Nicki confirmed would be no issue.
I shared this feedback with Nicki a few days after our wedding, and we appreciated her quick response, apology, and offer to debrief with the team and get back to us that same week with a more detailed response on what mightâve happened that night. We of course acknowledge that nothing could be done now to fix what happened, but appreciated this offer; though, we never actually heard back again after that first response.

They were professional, friendly, and genuinely excited to help us design the perfect menu. With so many options and packages to choose from, it felt like we had total freedom to create exactly what we wanted.
What really blew us away was how they handle dietary requirements. We went into the process thinking weâd have to limit our menu to cater to as many dietary needs as possible, but Mike completely flipped that idea on its head. He told us to pick whatever dishes we wanted, and they would modify them as needed for individual guests. This applied to everythingâfrom canapĂ©s to mainsâand it completely took the stress out of planning. Not only that, but all of our guests with dietary requirements raved about their meals, which speaks to how thoughtful and high-quality those substitutions are.
We also did a tasting at M2 Kitchen, and I cannot recommend this enough. It wasnât just helpful for deciding on our menuâit was such a fun experience. We walked away feeling so confident in our decision and so excited to eat that meal again on the day. It was also the perfect chance to meet Mike and the team. Mike is so passionate about what he does, and it shows. I remember leaving that meeting thinking that as much as I care about the food at our wedding, Mike cares about it even more.
And the food? Obviously Iâm a bit biased but I honestly think it is the best food Iâve ever had at a wedding. Every dish was absolutely delicious, and the portion sizes were really generous. We had multiple vendors tell us how excited they were to see M2 Kitchen on the roster because theyâre the best. These are people who work weddings every week, so that really says something.

The freshly made pasta was absolutely delicious and paired perfectly with the rest of the meal. And let's not forget about the dessert canapes â they were the perfect sweet ending to an unforgettable meal. The ice cream sandwiches were particularly popular, and people are still talking about them.
