We arrived at 1.00pm to have lunch with friends after searching for a clear table we settled on one that we moved the used plates and cutlery off to another table and asked one of the staff if they could organise to have the table wiped clean. Sure was the answer! 20 minutes later I went back up to the bar and asked the bar person if I could have a cloth to wipe the table down myself, in which he grabbed a cloth and promptly came out to wipe the table. The table was left wet and smelt like dirty socks until I went and grabbed a handful of coasters and dried it off. We ordered our meals at 1.30pm, that’s four meals, 3 steaks a roast pumpkin salad. At 2.45 our two of our meals were ready. The other 2 were to arrive some 20 minutes later, but only after we approached the restaurant staff. In which we were asked how our steaks were to be prepared. 2 rare and a medium was our answer. The staffs response was well that’s why it’s taking so long, you ordered a medium. I could not believe the this place. And it’s a shame because the meals were pretty good. This is supposed to be a tourist destination for our region. A world class facility. Sorry but it was tired looking, smelled like a old pub and had serious lack of care factor. Will not...

26 Jan'25 - had drinks and 🍰 overlooking the ⛳ on a beautiful day. Again the experience was excellent 👌 and really welcoming staff.

After seeing an ad on IG for "The 19th Hole" restaurant we decided to go and look. The view was outstanding! Overlooking the golf course with the sea as a backdrop. Just wow! The table was excellent, right next to the window. The blonde girl that showed us our table gave us a choice of two, well done, compared to just telling where to sit, thank you. I will say that she certainly can try to crack a bit of a welcoming smile. She made you feel as if to say 'so what are you here for?'. She could take your experience up a whole notch. The young man was very helpful and friendly. The brisket burger was just excellent, I could suggest just a tad less hot sauce to get the full flavour of the excellent brisket. The cheese burger was also excellent! Real hand made Patty. The Chip were extra crispy and perfectly fried. A definite revisit is on the books. Maybe the girl will be having...

We have played here socially a few years ago and enjoyed it. But doubt we will bother coming back again after today. We are experienced players who often play in competition. It was a comp day here and we were 1st 4 off after the comp. Unfortunately we are not used to players who just walk onto your fairway to take their shot, underestimating what we could drive. And were quite rude about it. The comp was slow and at 15 2 of our party gave up. We then waited more than 5 minutes for players in front to find a ball then give up to take another tee shot. As they had lost a hole thought we should have been called through. Did 16 and thought we might as well finish it was a very windy day too. Apparently we were complained about cutting through though we drove straight off to give up and were told there are comps every day so to expect the same. It's a shame as it is an unusual course along the sea but not worth the trouble...

(Didn’t stay the night so didn’t include a room rank) So there are a lot of great things about this place. The views are wonderful - and a lot of the decor is pleasant. The staff are friendly and attentive. There are big TVs everywhere so it’s not a good place for neurodiverse people - we asked for a massive TV that was in my Dad’s eyeline to be turned off and were told they couldn’t because it includes advertising. The duck curry was so over spiced it took me twice the time as everyone else to eat it and one of our pork belly meals was so poor we would have sent it back except we felt bad for the staff. The down lighting is so intense especially during daytime that it’s just exhausting to be in the room (again maybe that’s just for people who are more photo sensitive).

It is pretty awesome to play golf and to see so much sand and water that wasn't on the course wrecking my round! The view is great, if you're going north. Facing south you do see the steelworks. The layout is odd as when you finish the 9th you're right at the back and no where near the clubhouse. However, the course does pose an interesting challenge with how exposed it is. The greens are very quick, so be sure to get some practice in. The 19th was a good spot for a drink at the end of the round. Something I wasn't fond of was the sulphur smell that seemed to pop up towards the back part of the course. Other than that, I really enjoyed my time out there.
