I stayed here with my mother and aunt. I was looking for either 3 single rooms or one double room and one single. It was a last minute holiday and our options were very limited as Mayrhofen was very busy that week. The website is excellent and the team are very responsive to email which is very helpful. I was dealing with Karen....I have to say she was excellent, practical and efficient. Her English was superb.|We booked the superior apartment for 6 nights. One double room, one single and a couch in the living room converted into a bed. There was a bathroom beside the double room. The kitchen is fantastic, dishwasher, full fridge, oven and hob. The dishes, pots and pans and cutlery were in excellent condition. The shared balcony was big and had a lovely outlook. This is a great choice for family or close friends as you have to go through the double room to access the bathroom. We arrived late and the key was waiting for us on the desk. Our appartment was on the second floor. No lift, the stairs are not steep however. Wifi was an excellent speed and free. The style of the appartment was traditional which we loved. We did not have breakfast...the dining area looked nice. There also was a lovely balcony on the first floor with a lovely view over a field to the Ahorn.|Location wise - fantastic. 5 minute walk to the Penken Bahn using a walk way, about 7 minute walk to the Ahorn Bahn.|The only reason I am giving this a 4 star rating is the 3 rd bed was not made up as requested on the night we arrived (23:00 after a long day) - I slept on the couch as I couldn't figure how to make the bed up. I am not sure if there was any housekeeping included during the stay as it was not clear on the website. We were late risers though so it may have been that. Bins were emptied and some towels changed when I requested which was good. |Check out time was 9am, our bags were stored in the foyer under a table. We were kindly allowed use the sauna area to change when we were being collected.|All in all these are not major problems......The positives far outweigh the minor glitches. |If and when I return I would stay here without...
Read moreWe have stayed in one particular chalet several times and had wonderful holidays here: fantastic accommodation, lovely, helpful staff and a welcoming atmosphere from the family owners. The location is superb with a fabulous setting, wonderful views and close to good shops and not far from restaurants and the centre of Mayrhofen for trains, buses and tourist shops. The chalets are outstanding: warm, comfortable and the standard of cleanliness is the highest of anywhere we've ever been. They are fully equipped with everything from kitchen equipment and coffee machines to a vacuum cleaner and clothes rack / dryer. 5-star plus self catering accommodation!||This time there were renovations in progress. We were only advised less than 2 weeks before we were due to leave home that we would not be able to move into our regular chalet at all, so it was too late to delay our holiday. ||My husband's mobility issues mean that a downstairs shower, toilet and bathroom are essential, and a bedroom and no-step entrance are highly desirable. The new chalet did not have the latter but consultation with Karin meant that every effort was made to try to accommodate our requirements: a ramp was put in place at the entrance and sofa / temporary beds were put up in the lounge. Karin, receptionist, Gudrun, head of housekeeping, and Michael from the family could not have been kinder or more considerate in all their many efforts to accommodate our needs. We were even taken to other chalets to consider choosing another if our requirements could be managed.||In all our holiday was not as good as usual but no-one could have done more to try to make it so. We appreciate everyone's thoughtfulness and efforts, they went above and beyond to help us. ||We are assured that our normal chalet will be ready by the end of the season and look forward...
Read moreAbsolutely PERFECT! The ladies at the service desk are so sweet and helpful and made sure we could use their bathrooms even after we checked out! The cabins are very cozy, clean, and spacious with a lot of room for big families or groups. The floors are heated and cozy with a full kitchen and living room and bathrooms at the entry way and also upstairs. There are boot warmer lockers for your boots to dry overnight and to store your snowboards or skiis. They are a 5-10 minute walk from the lift and into town which is perfect for a quick breakfast or evening meal before coming back. We came to see the Almabtrieb (the parade and cows walking down from the mountain through town) and the markets and it was such a nice walk to and from the cabin. They are in the perfect location and the views from the windows are so beautiful! Sometimes you hear the people outside partying late at night or early morning, but everything else...
