I want to start by saying the restaurant itself and staff are very lovely and welcoming, the vibe of the exterior was so comfortable to sit and relax, to start we ordered bruschetta and the prawn salad. Both were very tasty, the bruschetta portion was a bit too large for a starter but I wouldn’t suggest that being a bad thing. The prawns were delicious but a little under seasoned, the smell of garlic was unfortunately stronger than the taste. Overall the starters were good. We then waited around 40-50 minutes for our starters to be taken and our mains to arrive, again the ambiance of the outside area made that wait a little more enjoyable. When the mains arrived I was gobsmacked that I’d been served what looked like an entire lobster. Unfortunately when I turned the lobster over I very quickly noticed it had been cut in half, and the majority of the meat had been removed. The most frustrating part of this dish, was that the restaurant do not have or provide any shell crackers for shell fish, meaning I was not able to break into this entire lobster that had been served what so ever. This very quickly brought my experience to a low, as the dish was one of the most expensive on the menu. Whilst eating the little bits of meat that had been left I noticed a bitter taste, this was actually the lobster giblets that had not been removed during the preparation process. I had bits of dark lobster intestine floating around in my spaghetti. As you can imagine, this was pretty revolting to see. This dish really did shatter my mood as I was so excited upon its initial arrival. A very very, underwhelming ultimatum to what could be a fantastic Italian restaurant in the heart if Mayrhofen. The staff were lovely and same with the aesthetic, just such a huge shame about the food. Whilst paying the bill I noticed a table of 2 behind me complaining about the exact same issues (portion size and lack of lobster meat). I suppose it serves me well of venturing away from the amazing traditional Austrian...
Read moreThe people who gave positive reviews must never have had good Italian food, or the restaurant has sank very far since the reviews were made. The restaurant was one of the worst I have experienced.
Each table has a bottle of olive oil and balsamic vinegar which are apparently intended as decorations because we were never given any plates on which to dip the bread.
The server who also seemed to be the owner placed everything on the table loudly and roughly and brushed up against me each time he came to serve us. He handled cash from another customer then immediately handled their cold cut ham without plastic gloves or washing his hands. He poured our coca cola so roughly that there was almost no carbonation left when I went to drink it.
My carbonara seemed to be made with eggs the "right" way but the eggs were overcooked to almost become scrambled. It tasted almost like nothing. A little sour and a little watery.
Overall not...
Read moreWe ate here the last 2 nights. The first night both the food and service were very good and therefore we decided to return the 2nd night. Unfortunately, tonight they seemed very busy and were not equipped to deal with what seemed like a full house. Although our drinks were served within an acceptable timeframe and out shared starter the same ..we were left waiting over an hour for our main courses. Apologies were made regularly for the delay and promises were made that it would be only another 5 minutes ..and 20 minutes later and 3 glasses of wine later it arrived. Although the food was good, appetite was lost & experience ruined. An offer of the 3rd glass of 1 wine on the house would have to eased the blow of the bill instead of an limoncelli (One of us was a...
