About the building: They offer guided tours different languages: English, Portuguese, Spanish and maybe more. Also you get a cup of coffee or water while you are waiting till the guide is ready. Waiting takes up to max. 10 min. There are paintings about the origin of Rio de Janeiro, how the Portuguese and French have their influence on it and about the constitution. Certo dia, passeando despretensiosamente pela Cinelândia, reparei pela primeira vez nessa construção. O fato de que esse belíssimo prédio sempre esteve ali e eu nunca havia reparado e que, ao me aproximar, ver que se tratava da Câmara Municipal, insitigaram minha curiosidade. Perguntei a uma moça na porta se podia entrar. Por sorte, era o ultimo horário de visitação. Me levaram a uma sala de espera, que mais parecia uma sala normal, cheia de gente e papéis pela mesa. Me chamaram de coitado por esperar, me ofereceram água e eu, que tinha todo tempo do mundo, me divertia. Alguns minutos depois, a mesma moça da porta apareceu e disse que me guiaria. Desculpou-se antecipadamente caso esquecesse algo, que estava ali há pouco tempo. Assegurei a ela que não fazia a menor questao, que apenas queria ver as belas salas e os afrescos nas paredes.
