UPDATE: June 20, 2016. Am disappointed that two of my favourite stores have closed: Bowrings and the Pet Store. Counted eleven empty store fronts during my last visit. Tim Hortons has also left; what kind of omen is that? I would suspect "High Street" = "high rent." I hope the parent company will give the remaining tenants a break before more bail. Nothing is more depressing than a half-empty mall. It would be a shame to see an interesting concept flop. Like the concept of open-air shopping, but the times I have visited (December, 2013) it was very cold. However, on a nice day, it will be a very pleasant experience indeed. The eastern side of the street mall enjoys a magnificent view of Mt. Baker. The site designer obviously went to great lengths to ensure the view was preserved. Also like the concept of street events and festivals. This mall is striving to be very guest oriented. Is a welcome change from the claustrophobic indoor mall experience, which is disconnecting and sterile.
During my last visit, took a peek inside the soon-to-be opened Famoso Pizzeria. The owner was there and took the time to introduce himself, his product, and then presented us with some complimentary gift certificates! It was a very nice gesture - and certainly unexpected.
Certainly look forward to patronizing Famoso when it opens, as well as the mall's planned events in 2014.
Wishing your venture great success! It is an asset to the community; I am a...
Read moreGood points -tons of stores/shops. The Wal-Mart with rpoduce in a major plus. -a few restaurants and food shops. The Milestones is wonderful. -well planned events and entertainment. I've been to several especially the Christmas events. -also have plenty of events for all ages throughout the year. -shops cater to an older crowd. My mother enjoys this mall for its home stores and grocery shopping more than I do.
Bad points -very little shopping in terms of clothes. If you a guy, there really is nothing for you here except maybe H&M. -strange location, kind of in a residential area on one side. If you come during peak hours be prepared to get stuck in traffic at the intersection of Cardinal and Blue Jay. Also, you might end up on the highway going to Vancouver if you are not careful. -no real signs once inside and you have to drive very carefully the first few times to figure out the layout and where to best enter and exit -Open air concept. This could be seen as good or bad. Since Abbotsford is mainly cold and rainy the majority of the year and I dislike both the cold and walking in the rain, I will try to avoid this mall during the colder months. -no cell reception. I almost always lose reception at this mall especially in the Wal-Mart. -not open very late
Overall: Very different from my expectations, I expected a high end mall will lots of clothing stores. Good place to waste a few hours walking around and maybe grab something to eat, however I rarely get anything except groceries...
