I was standing in line with my girls. A customer ahead of us asked for steak on her wrap. The worker put on chicken. The customer corrected the worker, the worker dumped the chicken back into the bin. Instant cross contamination. I am aware that cross contamination can occur at restaurants, but to do it deliberately is ridiculous. Another worker brought over some fresh chicken and dumped it on top of the old chicken. The old food is to be put on top of the fresh food so it is used first. Shortly after another worker brought over more fresh food and dumped it on top of another old bin. God knows how long that older food has been festering in the bottom of those bins. Food safe is not being observed at this location. I wonder how many employees have their food safe? The counter where the meals were prepared was covered in food. Anyone with food allergies, food sensitivities and those who don't enjoy cross contamination or food poisoning should avoid this location at all cost. We walked out in disgust. The woman ahead of us asked for her receipt so she could talk to a health inspector. We will never return. We will not bother trying any other location.
Edit After reading many reviews, I am amazed at the amount of customers who have experienced food poisoning. How is this disgusting location still open?
Review** A year later, I came in, not to eat because I didn't believe the owner wanted to serve good food, but to order a drink and watch. I saw, with little surprise, workers dumping fresh food on top of old food again and again. I also watched a young man go about the restaurant cleaning tables or so he thought. He squirted sanitizer on one dirty table, wiped away only the visible food and didn't wash the rest of the table. He then went to the second table and repeated the procedure. He is supposed to spray the table well, then wash the whole table top. He placed the spray bottle and dirty cloth beneath the till, a high traffic area close to the floor. A minute later, he picked up the same cloth, without the spray bottle and wiped the trash table. He used no sanitizer. He replaced the same cloth beneath the till. That same cloth was then used to wipe the food prep table. I'm just wondering when food safe will be taken seriously? Obviously the owner doesn't care, nor do...
Read moreI have eaten Mucho Burrito in many other locations and like the food. I also really like Mexican food in general. My experience at this location on Sunday September 20, 2020 fell very short of my expectations. I normally eat a veggie bowl without any cheese. With extra salsas, seasonings and veggies it can still be very tasty. At this location I was offered 4 toppings with my rice and beans. The four toppings were very sparse and lacked flavour. Every time I asked for more salsas I was told it would be an additional charge, anything else to increase flavour was also an up charge. In my opinion when I skip on the most expensive ingredient cheese there should be an allowance for something in exchange. When I brought the veggie bowl home it was the most bland Mexican food I have ever tasted. Furthermore, I ordered chips and salsa. The chips taste like they came out a cheap grocery store bag of chips and the salsa tasted very much like it was made with ketchup. For $28 for two bowls and two chips I expect more and receive more at Chipotle and other Mucho Burritos. This was my first time at this location and the owner saved a few cents on salsa but lost a possible...
Read moreThere really is no substitute for quality, and that's what's behind this fresh take on Mexican food.
Story time Mucho Burrito is one of the only places where my wife can safely eat, as she is extremely intolerant to gluten, and Mucho Burrito has always been reliable toward this. I generally avoid it, because I'm dangerously allergic to cilantro, but despite the risk I wanted to take out the lady for a special meal.
An Indian woman took our order, and changed her gloves for my wife's sake right away. We told her about the foods that make us sick, and she helped us navigate away from certain things. To be specific, I also can't have ANY dairy or I get sick.
Somehow, we ate here, and neither of us got sick, again. So, if you're wondering if you should bring your intolerances and allergies here, you should definitely go for it. For example, they have two cheeses - one is regular, and the other is vegan.
Big thanks to the people who work there, and to the owners who keep it...
