I have been a customer of Canadian Tire for over 8 years and bought a stove recently, which has stopped working after a single day use . The employees and cashiers at the downtown Canadian Tire declined to provide a refund, offering only store credit instead. Their conduct was rude and unhelpful towards us. Even after we request the involvement of a manager, name kayeke his support was deficient and lacking in professionalism. I advise individuals to be cautious in dealing with their poor refund procedures. My entire experience was disappointing. I recommend seeking out alternative stores where you can expect gratitude and outstanding customer service.

Fantastic! Love this place! I know it’s only half as big but they got some great stuff!! I picked up 2 bird feeders and some light bulbs, it’s dark in the coal factory. But I’ll tell yeah, the tiny $10 feeder is AMAZING! Here’s how I look at it. Squirrels are inevitable. Thanos. But misdirection will get you into magic! A sin. But for this it’s worth it! Here’s the deal. The feeder is shook, SHOOK! By a squirrel and a bunch falls out. Bunchles. Then they go down and just eat that and the birds feed freely and it’s wonderful and now. I am Snow White. Look at my flock. I recommend their stock. 10/10 Canadian tire above a grocery store

Almost everything you’re looking for. For the size of the store (kind of small) they pack a variety of stuff into it. If you’re looking more for specific car stuff (spark plugs) you may have to visit another location. Decent customer service, I made a cash purchase and lost the receipt and wanted to return the item ($6.49) because I purchased the wrong item and needed to get the other one (which they also had). The staff denied me a credit / refund / exchange. Even though I had profs that I spent $800+ at the store in the previous week. Other than that not bad.

Staff are just walking around trying to look busy and when you ask for help it feels like your inconveniencing them.

Corporate should definitely go to this location you need to make massive adjustments.

Your staff at this location has a very bad attitude including management.

Honestly speaking, I don’t like leaving reviews , this is my second review that I ever made on google.

I’m shocked how can a beautiful store with such a prime location have such a bad customer service? It’s absolutely terrible.

On March 24 I went to the store because it is the most convenient location for me. I live downtown.

unfortunately I had an accident in the paint section. One of the paint cans was not completely close and was wet on the outside. I did not notice so when I pick it up, It slipped from my hand and it fell on the floor ,on my clothes and shoes. I quickly made the staff aware of it because I didn’t want any other customer getting into trouble because of it. I waited and explain what happened, and they were completely annoyed. I apologize sincerely.

Today March 25 I went back to the store to get some more paint. I never wanted to complain about this because I know how hard it is to hire people that works , I run my own business . I notice whenever I go to this location. Your staff has a very bad attitude you can never get help, I had to in previous visits search for a ladder and get my own products from the top shelf because your staff has refused to search for the product themselves which by the way online said that you had over 20 units of it in store.

Today I went to the store a customer service named Sonal , told me that I couldn’t look at the paint without any help. That she knows about me . I don’t know what that means.....

I said to her OK could you please help me she said no. I asked her if she could get somebody to come help me. She was annoyed and completely bothered by my request . When I called her out for not helping me out, she decided to bring the supervisor and in my face lied that she was offering me help and that I refuse.

Listen, I have to deal with my staff on a regular and I understand, managing people is not easy. I SUGGEST !!!!!!!

1-instead of gossiping about paying customers and profiling them , please put in place a Training for your service providers to assist your paying customers when they need help, look out for when they need help. Trust me it’s clearly obvious when somebody’s having a hard time to find something in your store .

2-Have enough lockers so that you don’t have have to put paying customers, backpacks and bags on the dirty floor which by the way you request for them to leave in the front before entering the store.

3- to prevent paying customers from having to search for a ladder to get products from the top shelf have enough staff that could restock your products in a safer reasonable height.

(just restock the product where it supposed to be so that we don’t have to go get a ladder)

4- have better customer service skills . Remember your clients are the blood of your business.

I took the time to read some of your other reviews on Google . I believe all the negative reviews.......... I have experience it all myself and I’m happy to know that I’m not crazy and that is an ongoing problem at...

UPDATED REVIEW: Based on my interaction (or perhaps I should say lack of meaningful interaction) with a manager at this store today my review is dropping from 5 stars to 1 star. During a transaction at customer service I was surprised, and quite frankly, taken aback at a policy that came into play. As such, the clerk left to seek out the manager to confirm the policy which the clerk reported back the manager did but as I was still somewhat incredulous offered to let me speak to the manager. I was definitely inclined to do so and the clerk one again left the customer service area and returned in short order with the manager. Unfortunately all the manager was able to do was confirm to my face that the policy applied and explicitly agreed upon being asked that there was nothing more that she could do for me or more information that she could provide except have the clerk give me the toll free number for Canadian Tire Corporate Customer service (which the clerk promptly and efficiently did)

Based on a discussion with Canadian Tire Corporate Customer service and subsequent independent research, I now understand that the policy necessarily stems from Government of Canada policy. And what I want to be very clear about here is that, while I still feel that the way this all plays out the end consumer gets screwed and that Canadian Tire could do more to tweak their policy to minimize this (which I'm continuing to take up with Corporate Customer Service), none of that comes into play as far as this rating goes. This rating is exclusively reflective of that IMHO the manager's interaction with me was completely unacceptable. The whole point of having a manager available to speak to customers is to have someone in the store able to to understand and empathize with a customer's concern and be able to explain the rationale for store policy to the customer and how it relates to her/his concern. This manager was both unable and unwilling to do any of this and thus having her speak to me was a complete waste of time from both of our perspectives and necessitated me taking more of my own time to subsequently following up (including updating this review) than I would have been required had the manager been willing and able to explain the rationale behind the policy (And, in this case, based on what I now know, it could have been easily and succinctly imparted through knowledge and empathy on the part of the manager).

To sum all of this up, one of my favourite expressions is: "Imparting knowledge begets trust and understanding whereas withholding it only results in ignorance and enmity" In this instance, nothing of the former but a lot of the latter has resulted and as such although I will continue to shop at this location when it is convenient for me, I'll prefer to take my business to another Calgary location like Pacific Place where I've always had better customer experience.

ORIGINAL REVIEW: The newest and best Canadian Tire in Calgary! It's definitely a more urban calibre of store and clearly not a location you're going to go to buy something like a lawn tractor, but it's the same Canadian Tire that we all know and love. Despite its location parking is surprisingly easy to be able to pop in and...

I would like to share my experience with Canadian tire. Yesterday I couldn’t start my car since car battery died. I live in downtown so I decided to walk to this location and buy a new battery. I went there, they asked me for my car model, and year and they searched it in their system and sold me the battery that would match my car. I walked home (a few km’s ) carrying the battery in this cold weather. Then I removed the old battery from the car and have noticed that the new battery they sold me is much smaller than the original. It was already late and by the time I would get back to the store it would be closed. So I decided to install the new battery anyway (since I needed to drive to work early in the morning), and deal with the issue the next day. Today after work I drove straight to the closest Canadian tire In NW. Told them about the issue and they said: we have no return policy on batteries that have already been installed and told me to try going back to the downtown location where I bought the battery originally, and hopefully they’ll help me. So, I drove back to this store and the ct staff told me that unfortunately they can’t do anything about it and that I can try going to another location which is south of Calgary and try to return it there. I drove all the way south, and they told me the same thing, if your battery has been installed you can’t return or exchange it, and that I can try going to the store I originally bought it from( where I was already). I understand, it’s their policy, however I find this being a very unique situation and they could have dealt with this issue better. Maybe yes, it’s partially my fault installing the battery even If I noticed its smaller(but I didn’t have any other option considering my situation ). But them selling the wrong battery size doesn’t seem to be a problem at all. Not...
