When we arrived we were the only customers on the premises. We were told that there is a birthday party tomorrow but playing with the sand toys would be allowed. Odd-but okay. We played on all the courts with the children and began playing with lawn darts and ladder ball. The attendant came out and rather than come speak to the adults decided to lecture the children that the adults can’t be playing with ladder ball and lawn darts as they are set up for tomorrow.
A) If you have a problem with what is happening - come talk to us, not the children and expect them to relay messages. B) we were playing with respect to the materials, not throwing them around wildly. To ask us, the only customers in the building, to not play with materials because you don’t want to clean it up later is pure laziness. The sand was not smoothed over and beautiful, it looked like all the other courts, walked on and used. Again, we were the only patrons in the building, and a party’s happening tomorrow-so between 12:30 pm today and tomorrow, you can’t tidy up? We proceeded to clean up the space entirely for the lazy attendant and promptly left. Not somewhere to take...
Read moreThe Beach is a great facility, i''ve been playing in the vball leagues here for a few years, love the fact that it allows us to play beach vball year round. Although i have a couple complaints that would give it 5 stars if fixed. Balls - the balls here are pretty hurt, this has somewhat improved lately but the balls are often under inflated/flat, in bad shape, or just missing from the court all together. Net height - the nets can vary wildly in height from court to court and night to night. Its really not that difficult to set the net heights consistantly Keep toys out of the courts, ive played in a few games where ive stepped on sand buckets or other platic toys that are buried in the sand, pretty bad safety hazard when people are jumping around in bare feet. Score keeping - often times the scores arent updated on the schedule for weeks at a time, its nice to see where you are in...
Read moreThis place is essentially just a giant sand pit surrounded by concrete walls. Its not exactly inviting, with no windows except for at the reception and fluorescent lights not exactly capturing the essence of a beach. I guess there were pool noodles around and a small mural to make it more beach like? But overall, it feels kinda cold and uninviting. The sand was also strangely cold, damp, and not the same "consistency" on different sides of the area, where one side was a little colder and damper than the other. It was, however, a pretty good texture for building sand castles or sculptures. A number of people that were there at the same time as I was were taking advantage of the dampness of the sand to sculpt some detailed figures. It was quite a bit of fun once everybody got organized into games though, and I definitely recommend going with a...
