I'm long overdue on this one, I've been coming to this store since Day 1... This is the best video game store in Courtenay and probably all of North Island, hands down. The sheer amount of cool stuff I've gotten here for reasonable prices since Game Source opened is so vast I can't even list it all here. Whether it's video games or Pokémon cards there's a nice selection for everyone! Both the store owner Rico and his co-worker Michael have always made sure to make me feel welcome and offer up great deals on the various items I wanted. Oh, and if you got old video games / Pokémon cards lying around in your home bring those in... They will pay cash and/or store credit for them and they pay rather well! Overall, I can't recommend this store enough! 5/5 Stars all day. If you're in need of a cool game to play at a fair price... This is your Game Source! (The pictures down below are just some of the many things I've gotten there!)

I had called Nico (the owner) a few months back about my collection I was trying to sell. He told me he buys all video game consoles and games. I tell him what i have and he says he is interested. He told me to send him a picture of what i had. Which I sent 5 minutes after we got off the phone. He never replied. Yesterday I go into the store for the first time. The owner takes an hour to go over my collection and he makes an offer. We make an agreement and shake hands on the deal, but he asks me to return the next day. Something about waiting for more cash or that days sales to complete. I agree to return the next day. He tells me he will not be in tomorrow though, but his worker will be. He states that he will let his worker know about our deal. So today I go in there, and his worker re goes over everything again. He finds 3 games that are not original. The store does not deal with non original game cartridges which I understand. He makes me stand there for over half an hour while he combs over my entire collection again all while pausing and dealing with other customers. he ends up offering me half of what Nico offered me yesterday. with the 3 games excluded.

Im leaving a bad review because 1. the owner himself didn't even spot these so called un original games. - 2. they basically waste an hour of my time two days in a row then he lowballs me $250 for a system, 5 controllers, 2 kinds of cords (old style and updated) plus a few more accessories and 19 games (3 of which are not authentic)

Its not that we couldn't make a deal its that you waste my time in 3 separate occasions followed by a low ball offer. Sorry to say I wont be back, and I won't recommend anyone else go...

My wife and I recently moved to the area and brought a bunch of consoles, games and more with us as we did not have time to piece off before we left our province. I was recommended to try this store and the group here were amazing. Both Aris and Rico were insanely helpful, hilarious and extremely personable not to mention I was given a very close to my asking price payout for my goods, which is amazing.

They helped us out as well by sharing some local information about street festivals and other shops to check out including a table top and miniature shop not far from them that I went to and purchased some items at.

If you ever need anything related to new and used gaming/pop culture items do not hesitate to come by...
