Sparkling Pools And Spas — Local services in Dartmouth

If buying anything from Sparkling Pools & Spas, beware! Just over a year ago we had to purchase a new control box and heater for our hot tub that we purchased from them in 2006. The control box was $1100 and an additional $450 to install. I don't have the exact figures because even through I have asked many times for and actual invoice, to date I have still not received one. However I did pay the bill using my cc and a phone conversation with the rep from the company - in good faith. After about 3 weeks, the heater stopped working and when I investigate the problem found the wiring from the pump to to control box was burned (tried attaching but I don't have Google Photos) and if my house breaker had not not tripped could very well have burned our house down. This wire was installed by the company's contractor. When I asked about getting it replaced I was told the warranty for the box only covered parts and that I would then have to pay the $150/hr (or thereabouts) labour charge to install the parts. Since I had no paperwork whatsoever and was never told this before buying the new control box, I was not about to throw more good money after bad and elected to cut my losses. I would never use this company! I went there a year ago or so to get a quote on a tub and the owner Lisa was not very responsive and I got the feeling she felt I was wasting her time so I bought a swim spa elsewhere. I went in there after my purchase of the tub as The Water Wagon guys said go in and get your chemicals there as it is so convenient so I thought maybe she had a bad day the last time I was there. I went in and she was quite cold, I bought a gadget to get the debris sucked out of the spa and it didn't work, took it back, she was totally rude, I purchased another type for over $200 and it didn't work well at all, went back and was told I couldn't bring it back and that I should have read the receipt on the bottom, very cold rude woman so I left it with her so she made money off me and I will not recommend this business to anyone due to how poorly I have been treated there. Not sure what I did to deserve her nastiness but there you go. Don't bother buying a spa at this business in my opinion....

DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS BUSINESS. Purchased a $103 replacement bulb for an above ground pool (probably the 5th bulb in 8 years, so about $750 in revenue for this business including the lighting system $250). This last bulb lasted less than 2 weeks, so I asked them to at least give me some kind of discount on another bulb or perhaps on an alternate lighting solution. I wasn't even asking for a refund for the obviously defective bulb. Spoke to the owner who was unsympathetic and her only response was "they're bulbs, they burn out". I politely pushed the request for a smidgen of a discount, but to no avail. Will not be stepping foot in this place again. I'm sure this business had a stellar year because of Covid demand, but it would have been nice to pay that good fortune forward by taking care of the customers that have been supporting you for years.
