Prices are pretty good, although I think people over exaggerate just how ‘amazing’ they are. Yes, pizzas and frozen stuff is cheaper than Sobeys regular prices but let’s not pretend Sobeys or superstore don’t have weekly sales, like $2.99 pizzas for example.
Another example; Is $2.99 for a hungry man dinner really ‘an insane price!’? In my opinion no, as they’re often that sale price at Sobeys or SS. It feels like people over-buy junky food at gateway thinking it’s ‘so cheap I can’t not get it’ when in reality yes, that’s often true, but also often untrue.
I like the beef but the chicken and pork are often low quality in my opinion. Vegetables and fruit are some of the lowest quality in grocery, especially fruit. But… money talks I suppose.
My biggest issue on my last 2 visits was their employees (who are probably 30% newcomers) like to constantly speak their language in front of customers, which I don’t appreciate or trust and hope the management see this and remediate it. But I have my doubts that’ll happen.
The new store will result in higher prices (albeit marginally), it’s just how business works. Maybe they’ll have fresher items and not food a day away from the best before date (note how I didn't say expired).

Read moreI recently visited this meat shop, and I must say, the experience was quite positive overall. They offer some of the best prices around, which is particularly impressive given the high quality of the meat. The store also has a mobile app, which is convenient for checking out current sales and new products, ensuring you can grab the best deals.
The shop is always bustling with customers, but they have plenty of cash registers open at all times. Despite the crowds, the line moves surprisingly fast, making it efficient for those in a hurry. That said, the busy environment might pose a challenge for individuals with extensive mobility issues, as navigating through the crowd could be difficult.
The store is a bit small, but they have plans for expansion, which should make the shopping experience even better in the future. Despite the size, I found the selection to be extensive, especially when it comes to meat. The quality of meat is exceptional – some of the best I’ve purchased in Halifax.
Overall, this shop is a great choice for anyone looking for high-quality meat at unbeatable prices, and the upcoming expansion will only improve the...
