Magic Lantern Theatres Center Cinema — Local services in Dawson Creek

First time in the theatre since Magic Lantern re-opened it. Wow - big difference from the Landmark days. First of all, we were warmly greeted when we entered and bought tickets. You could already tell that the theatre was brighter and cleaner. The snack counter has been updated and even with new staff we got our popcorn and drinks quickly. The person helping us was really cheerful and chatted with us while getting our order. Again, everything was bright and clean and in contrast to the Landmark days, the staff didn't look as though a hammer was about to fall on them. Going into the theatre proper again it was immediately obvious that things were fresh and clean. While the seats are older, they provide lots of leg room and the rows are staggered so you don't get blocked by a person in front of you. I don't know for sure, but it seemed like the sound system has been upgraded. Some 3D audio effects were heard throughout the movie rather than just sound coming out from behind the screen. One of the biggest improvements is the washrooms. No longer do you feel like you're in a seedy pub with stuff everywhere. Again, it was both spotless and odorless unlike the previous version under Landmark. After we left, the manager was standing near the exit, thanking everyone for coming and wished us a good night. When was the last time you were shown appreciation for being a patron at this theatre? Overall a great experience and even though this is definitely an old-school theatre, they genuinely make an effort to ensure you enjoy your movie experience. I hope Dawson Creek gets behind them and supports them. These days a couple of hours of entertainment are sorely needed. Well done, Magic Lantern! Kudos to the local team as well! Oh one small thing - if you have a medium or small drink, take care using the cup holders on the seat arms. This sizes don't fit snugly and you definitely don't want a drink...

Excellent Service!! The new screen and sound is great, make sure to sit in the first 8 rows for the best visual/audio experience. The seating is still not the best with slight cascading rows, don’t want anyone in the row in front of you. It would probably be much better if they removed a row between each. Nevertheless, The Batman was excellent to watch in this theatre! And the service, the popcorn...

I've been to many small town single screen cinemas, and while it's not the fanciest, the popcorn is great and the visuals and audio are phenomenal, it's a great place to watch a new movie, and one of the best places to go out and do...
