Well THAT was so much more than I expected! Shoutout to Quinn and Serena for being not just incredibly helpful and informative but also delightful. What great representatives for this sweet little town. There is a MUSEUM in there, too. Check out both sides of the visitor center. One side is a historic representation of the building as it was when it was a railroad depot. The other side is full of taxidermied animals from the area, dinosaur bones, a mammoth tusk and all manner of paraphernalia from times past. Nice gift shop with items from local artists. Read moreI came from Grande Prairie, AB and to while away the hours, I stopped by the Tourism Dawson Creek. Which houses a beautiful museum. It was fun. Small and cozy on two floors. They ask for donations which I think is okay by the way. The staff are friendly and lovely. Did not know about the Mile 0 Alaska Highway until I came here. Especially how the overland route to Alaska was constructed by the US Army Engineers in the spring of 1942 during World War 2 at a cost of $140 million. Dawson Creek is a city of history.
