Dawson Creek Art Gallery — Attraction in Dawson Creek

Charming , a show case of local Artists featuring the spirit of Dawson City locals. I found this to be a one of a kind shop not normally found on the tourist trail which is usually made from China merchandise. The Dawson Art Gallery has creative and inspiring pieces jewelry, driftwood Loons , Herons , sweetgrass baskets and captivating oil paintings featuring the flavor of the region and the toughness of those who live here. They also offer Art classes in their summer and afterschool programs which are a reflection of the community spirit .

A lovely place to stop and browse along...

I rarely visit, but it's worth occasionally dropping in. Very cool concept with the display area. It is a bit of a walk to see all the exhibits. Trying to not ruin what you will encounter inside, let's say they made good use of a smaller area.

A relic from Dawson Creek's storied past this building was one of the last Grain Elevators of this type in town. From the spot it stands now to almost the other end of town at one point was all grain elevators. There has been a strong farming and ranching industry here...

The Dawson Creek Art gallery has always been a favourite of mine...the shows and yes the gift store where I still like to find cool pieces and artful gifts such as my Rhoda Forbes textile piece which I still love... and great shows...( Such as the Madsen family) ..going up there from GP on Tuesday and plan to drop by. Keep up the great work Dawson...
