We go to the Meadows rec center often. The pools are nice & warm. They don't have a very good area for small children (Check out Millenium Place in Sherwood Park for that). There is also a viewing area for people who just want to watch their kiddo's swim, etc. There is a hot tub that is fairly large.
There is also a workout room, a track for running and weights room. There is a big gym area to play basketball and there is childcare on site! Lockers are $0.50 (two quarters).
There is a little Dairy Queen on site for a quick bite to eat. The eating area isn't very big though.
