This is a restaurant serving South Indian cuisine mainly from the southern state of Tamilnadu, India. They also serve Indo Chinese cuisine. The food was delicious . Our server Navdeep was a cheerful and helpful person. The food was served quickly and was fresh. We ordered Tamilnadu Goat Biriyani. It tasted awesome and authentic. A pleasant change from the commonly usual north Indian Biriyani . They have a variety of Dosa served with Sambhar, coconut chutney and onion chutney. Their Kozhi appitizer was crisp and spicy. Indo Chinese Manchurian was tasty too. Price was reasonable. The ambiance was pleasant and neutral. If you like to try authentic South Indian cuisine then you should try this restaurant.

Every visit to this restaurant is truly interesting. This time we had their 4 feet Family Dosa . Its sufficient for 4 people to eat . Its served with coconut chutney, Red Onion chutney and Tiffin Sambhar which is light and different . The taste was good, fresh and had a subtle taste of Desi Ghee. We also had the Indo-chinese Pepper Chicken which was very tasty. Their dessert of Flan was mouthwatering and so light that can be compared with any top Restaurants in Edmonton . This restaurant has free parking available and is on 23rd Avenue toward 17 street close to the Medows Recreation Center. The owners and Chefs were very welcoming and made our visit...

I am so lucky to have mud pot in our town . The best meal I cud ever thought of . I order every week sometimes multiple times in a week . Mud pot reminds me of my mom's food . This is been 11 years in Edmonton and never ever get the taste of back home but finally I am extremely thank full to the chef in mud pot for bringing my home taste to my house . I wish I cud post few pictures with this review but who can wait for it ,just get the fresh favours and taste of mud pot . I would strongly recommend among all of the south Indian restaurants PLEASE TRY MUD POT . first the chutneys from here will never never never ,,,,,,,,,disappoint you . Everything is so fresh ,my money is worth spending here . I wish you guys remains the same . I would brief my bad experience with other restaurants and it can automatically give you an idea just think opposite to what I am writing. - green chutney ( mint ) it Dosent go with typical south Indian food , raw onion dosa ( there was actual raw onion chopped with no potatoes at all ), sambhar in smallest container with few pieces of veggies but lots of water , the worse coconut chutney , also chutneys in 10 ml cup with 5 ml quantity in it , idllis with dry corners ( can tell it was old ) , sometimes raw idlli . It's the longest review but my time is worth to support this restaurant ,, bless the mud pot , I LOVE...

I regret to inform you (chef and management) that the quality of the food in your restaurant has dramatically decreased in recent months. Since I was extremely hungry, I decided to go to Mud Pot instead of Savoy's restaurant, which is quite far from my home. Asked the server to find me the best between the idly and the uthappam. As she suggested, masala Uttapam is an excellent choice. Unfortunately, I was disappointed with the quality of my meal. Since the uthappam was made from over fermented dough, the vegetables were not visible on top. The uttapam was over pressed to cook, resulting in a paratha instead of uttapam. Due to this unprofessional, unethical, and negative attitude, restaurants are losing customers. The guests may not be familiar with culinary technicalities, but they are aware of which food is worth the price they paid. My understanding is that once you see this review. You will ask your friends to submit positive comments to maintain the star rating, which is an old technique for maintaining star ratings. Please maintain your professionalism and improve your skills instead of performing this activity. It is highly recommended that management and chefs conduct a competitive analysis of your...

Tried masala dosa there. Good tasting food. However, giving 3 stars because they keep the place extremely cold. Every single customer was wearing a jacket while having their food. We kindly asked the server to increase the heat a tad bit but she dismissed us saying the heat is already on. Not sure if we would go back again as it was very uncomfortable and unpleasant experience - eating dinner while almost shivering. We have been to this place several times, it has always been cold, it wasn't one odd day. So, if y'all must try their food then go prepared with a few layers on lol. Edit after receiving reply from owner: A customer does not put google reviews with such details for fun. Everyone in the place were wearing jackets, not everyone will speak up. How do you see every single person wearing a jacket while eating and not respond to change that situation? You could have just apologized and said we will work on improving the customer satisfaction instead of defending how the place was heated. Definitely not coming back now. There are gazillion dosa places in edmonton and they have decency to keep the temperature adequate.

We were greeted by the waitresses when we walked in and attended to right away. Atmosphere was nice and lively but a bit dirty. Lighting can also be improved. We ordered fish pakora, paneer masala dosa and the Mysore masala dosa, ended off with chai. Everything tasted average, but the chai was our favourite. Service was fast at the beginning but got really slow after a while. We had to ask for our tables to be cleared after eating and before chai. Regardless, the waitress was really respectful and nice. We saw the owner walk around and greet some of the tables and make sure everything was okay, which we really liked. Overall was a good experience! *EDIT* Due to the very respectable response by owner, changing my review to 4-Star. Will be back!
