i have always said nothing but good things about browns but tonight was absolutely the worst service and dining experience i have recieved.
our server (amy or anna??) was clueless and quite impolite and inconsiderate of the customer’s time.
but the real culprit was the food.
is this location completely unaware of dietary restrictions and/or religious obligations regarding food? for a restaurant to be situated in such a high volume area filled with south asians, it sure makes browns look like a fool.
my friend ordered the hollywood burger and forgot to mention that she would prefer a chicken patty due to her inability to eat beef (PS. not stated anywhere that the burgers are all beef pattys)
the server was clueless and came back after 15 minutes just for us to wait another 10 for her to ask her manager who charged us 6 more dollars on top of the 18 we paid and made us wait another 20 minutes for ONLY A CHICKEN PATTY? not even a fresh burger. and we all remained calm and polite but truly, after all that wait just to have everything cold with a room temp. chicken patty?
the manager on duty tonight, was extremely unforgiving, inconsiderate and has no disregard for what excellent customer service looks like.
working in the food industry, i understand the dinner rush but, striving for customer satsification should remain a priority throughout.
absolutely disheartening experimce considering how much i raved about this location and will not be recommending this locationey alone coming...
Read moreThis review is for the owner. As an EX Edmonton nightclub owner. I know it’s important for an owner to know how much BAD employees cost you. I’m a neighbour of your restaurant. I come there often. I spend roughly $10,000 a year there. Last night I tried to come there for dinner as I always do. I was told I needed to wear a mask. Nothing new, I responded like I always do. I don’t wear masks because I have a legal medical exemption. I was asked if I had proof I said yes. As I pulled out my phone the host said she needed to grab her manager. When he came over he told me I need the physical copy from my Dr. I find this absolutely ridiculous. To think that someone can carry around a peice of paper for over two years is ridiculous! It would be shredded into a million pieces by now. But not to mention that the PROVINCIAL GOVERNMENT HAS DROPPED MASKING! THEY ARE THE ONES IN CONTROL OF HEALTHCARE. I understand that the city of Edmonton hasn’t dropped their mandate. But to be discriminated against for my medical condition and turned away by your staff is absolutely DISGUSTING, DISRESPECTFUL and outright WRONG! By the way we enjoyed our meal and wine at another restaurant who did not discriminate against me. And they enjoyed my $300 and will continue to enjoy my business. Ask Derek M who I am. And for the manager who showed me this disrespectful, discrimination YOU SIR...
Read moreMy husband ordered a burger that was small and thin. It wasn't good value for the money. He said a Grand Big Mac had more meat. I had a hard time finding anything that wasn't hot spicy which I don't like. The server was great in helping eventually choose the quesadilla. However, it too was hot so much that my mouth was burning. I only had about 4 bites and couldn't eat more. The kale side salad with apple mustard dressing was great and that is what I ate. The quesadilla was also not good value for what I got. The server did ask if I wanted something else but considering how hard it was to find something not hot spicy (which ultimately wasn't the case), I declined. She was kind enough to reduce the bill by 25% since I barely ate any of it. I was going to order dessert but a $14 brownie was too expensive in my opinion. I also asked for Moscato wine, which they didn't have, so I ended up with a red Malbec instead. This was our first visit to Browns and based on this experience we won't be recommending it or returning. Frankly, restaurants that have to add hot spicy to everything in some way aren't adding depth of flavor when the only thing that you can taste is...
