How do you make a place full of fun items in a fun location, joyless? Ask the clerks. Look behind you. They will probably be following you around, lurking, making sure you live up to their high standards of disclosing how much money you intend to spend there and never touching anything.
You taught many people a lesson yesterday Clerk, and the lesson was do not return to When Pigs Fly, appropriately named.
"Hey, do you want to go into that store?"
"When Pigs Fly!" Everyone should say.
Those kids all had money to spend, more than you know. I am glad they spent it at a place that was respectful and welcoming.
Save your time and money and don't go here.
Follow up to the Reply: Who starts a conversation with "Again" when I have never spoken to you before? So rude, much like the service. Let me guess they were playing with a toy that you sell, god forbid they test it to see if it is quality or as good as it seemed. Do you ask everyone who picks something up to use or test it to leave your store? Also, you never needed to mention their masks, they are trying to stay safe. Clearly, we will all be safer away from your store.
I have also attended your store and been treated disrespectfully, like making a purchase was an inconvenience for the grouch behind the desk. Based on my previous experience, the word of my child, how you addressed me in the reply to my 1st message, and other peoples reviews of the exact same behavior I can safely say my review is sound and it will not change.
Further update, the item that was being "played" with was glasses and the kid "playing" with them was looking to purchase glasses and walked over to her friends to get opinions. ...
Read moreMy daughter and her 4 friends where at this location Feb 21 2023. They had a PD day and wanted to spend a fun afternoon on Whyte Ave. The owner of the store asked them to leave the store because in her words "they where never going to buy anything. They where just playing with the items in the store." Also, a comment was made about them wearing a mask. Masking is a personal choice, no comment necessary. I am very disappointed, I did enjoy exploring this store. With its creaky floors and fun items, we would often spend lots of time and money at this establishment. We no longer will shop at When Pigs Fly. I sympathies with shop owners. I can not imagine it is an easy job. I also know my kid and all of her friends. I can say that they would not do anything to disrespect others or others property. We will take our business down the road to The Junque Cellar. The kids headed that way after being kicked out of When Pigs Fly. I was told that they where treated with respect. Each person in attendance ended up spending money at Junque Cellar. My daughter also mentioned that they where also offered a sample of rock candy. Nice touch...
Read moreLast Sunday my nephew and i went in to initially look for yoyo's. We ended up looking around and he found some really cool things he wanted to buy - one being a glow in the dark fidget spinner. We paid for the stuff (after a lot of really nice help whenever we had a question and a very warm welcome to the store may i add) and we walked on out. One of the staff members had followed us and let us know we had over paid for the fidget spinner and wanted us to come back so we could get reimbursed - which was such a kind and amazing thing to do, since they were so busy in there. I was so surprised she had noticed. When we got back into the store, she had also noticed we had a disposable mask for my nephew which was too big for his face. She gave him a free one they had for kids with a lot of heroes on it. She wouldn't even let me pay for it.
This was by far one of my absolute favorite shopping experiences in the city in such a long long time. I really appreciate this experience and how they treated us. No wonder i keep coming back to this store. Thanks ladies for such an...
