Franklin Suites — Local services in Fort McMurray

called prior to going saying i have a pet and i will be staying with her, was told that it was indeed pet friendly i just needed to pay a small pet fee. ended up having to give up the room i originally asked for to a ground level suite(as a women traveling alone, i did not feel 100% comfortable with this option, but since it was my only one i took it) (if knowing that i would have checked into else where) my suite was roomy, generally clean, and staff were friendly. No issues there. They even greeted me with pop and a hand written note!! Very sweet. Unfortunately, we noticed Our hotel bathtub was completely rusted out, Ended up not bathing or taking a shower the night i stayed. Was kinda off putting and gross/ Next part, not generally the hotel's fault; But there was a man circling the hotel parking lot Attempting to approach me while i was taking my dog to go pee and have a smoke. If i did not have my dog for protection, he would have persisted. Made me not want to leave our hotel room unfortunately.

I will rate my stay a 7/10 for alot of the issues i felt were safety issues surrounding the building for myself. And the cleanliness of the bathtub really threw my night off.

I was not as impressed this time as I was when I regularly visited for business before COVID. The website still says breakfast included. They have a small breakfast room that used to have some hot options as well as colder things like cereal, fruit, etc. I arrived to find out that it is no longer operational and that they provide a bagged breakfast. This was okay, however, both times no spoon was provided to even eat the yoghurt. Also I was not informed that they no longer have regular maid service. I know a lot of places now ask, but nothing was said about it. They provided coffee in the morning with the bagged breakfast but only powdered creamer. On top of all that the lock would not work on my room. I realize that these things happen but it was mentioned that this lock keeps breaking - so why use the room then when there are several other empty rooms? I have always booked with the Fort McMurray Hotel Group but this may change going forward as they have slowly let things slide...

Highly reccomend, prhave stayed Here more than once mylast visit was for a month(100+ night I received excellent/guest relations professionalservice from great staff,that went out of tgerwayclean,great location,should make for a great stay right? BUT,Its unfortunate &inconvenient,All ammenities are outside of the hotel. p ool? Gym?lounge?midnight snack?room service?
