I have a lot to say about this store, but I don't necessarily want to bore anybody reading this review, so I'll keep it short.
We walked into this store while we were just browsing/window shopping down Whyte. I was expecting it to be a generic store where everything is ordered from Temu/Alibaba and then resold at an inflated price. Fancy my surprise as I find that everything in here is hand crafted, and they support/commission local artists and creators to sell their creations.
Reasons I'm coming back:
The variety; There are all kinds of gorgeous pieces of jewelry and accessories in here, and I strongly wager you could not find anything in this shop at your local Claire's, Wal-Mart, or any other big name store. This is purely a guess, but because they support local artists, it's a confident guess.
Their pricing is really good. Anyone who's window shopped down Whyte avenue knows for a fact that boutique stores are stupidly expensive. I was prepared to walk in, browse while feigning interest, and then walk out. I actually ended up finding a bracelet I REALLY liked, and it was just about $35. When I asked, I was expecting it to be like $100 because that's what you'd expect of a store on Whyte Ave, but fancy my pleasant shock to find out that I wouldn't have to leave it on the shelf lol.
The staff and owner (I think she was the owner?) were super chill lol.
When I initially tried on the aforementioned bracelet I found, it didn't fit me. I went to the front desk to ask if they had it in any other sizes, and I assumed the answer would be "no this is the only size it comes in", but instead they asked me how much bigger I wanted it to be, and I figured we'd need to add 3 more beads. They checked with the owner(?) and she said she'd get in touch with the local artist who created it to see if they could customize it. She said she'd back to me in a few days, and took my number down. Yeah so they got back to me in like just 3 days to tell me the bracelet was ready to go. I'm just really stoked about this, maybe more than I should be lol. They're a store that actually will make sure that the accessories they sell can be altered/tailored to fit their clientele, and with an awesome turnaround time too.
Okay I said I'd keep it short, but imagine if I had actually given the long version. Basically, there's awesome stuff in here. If you walk by this place, just walk inside and check it out.
I'd say this might have become one of my favourite shops on Whyte Ave, and I'm going to start paying browsing visits every time my wife and I go out for a walk...
Read moreI recently discovered this gift shop from an Adopt A Shop event that Linda Hoang was having this summer. I chose to take part in this event and chose the Plaid Giraffe after seeing all the amazing and cute products they sold. I bought a beautiful bracelet, a Swedish dish cloth, and some cute reusable produce bags for a gift. The online ordering and shipping was quick and easy and since then I've continued to be impressed with their communication, and selection. I would recommend this shop for anyone in and around Edmonton that is looking to...
Read moreGreat shop full of jewellery, purses, candles, books, most of which is locally made. Staff is friendly and very helpful. The only downside, their hand sanitizer they make you use at the door smells horrid! One of the grossest ones I've used yet. But over all, a great store to buy a unique gift for someone who has everything. I love visiting here! If you haven't stopped in to check it out yet, I recommend you do. Guaranteed you'll find something in...
