A to Z African and Caribbean Groceries at 127 Water St. N, Kitchener, ON is truly a gem in the community! The atmosphere is always friendly, warm, and welcoming — you feel right at home the moment you walk in. The customer service is excellent; the staff are kind, helpful, and always ready to assist with a smile. They have a fantastic selection of authentic African and Caribbean food, snacks, herbs, and assorted pastries — everything from traditional favorites to hard-to-find specialty items. Their range of halal meats including goat, lamb, duck, and chicken is fresh and top quality. You’ll also find beautiful fresh fruits and vegetables, hair and beauty products, cosmetics, and so much more under one roof. If you’re looking for a grocery store that brings the true taste and spirit of Africa and the Caribbean to your table, A to Z African and Caribbean Groceries at 127 Water St. N, Kitchener, ON is the place to go! Highly recommended! šŸŒ“šŸ„„šŸ— šŸ‘ŒšŸ’Æ @That9IndigoLifestyle

Amazing customer service everytime I visit this store! Today, the owner went out of his way to Procure an Item (Abacha) that is rearly sold in his store. He decided to stock the item just for me to purchase, I’m totally impressed. The Store is just right in front of the train station at Kitchener, which makes it super convenient for commuters to grab African groceries on their way home.

!!!!Proceed with CAUTION!!! Let me preface by saying I am a repeat customer and have been coming to this store for years with no issues. Customer service has always been good and I’ve gotten the product that I’ve paid for. However, a few days ago I went to purchase a hair bundle pack for a sew in that was advertised to have 7 pieces. When I opened the pack I noticed one of the bundles was missing so I called to get a refund. I was told only the owner can help me and I need to come in when he is in-store. I came in today and was told that I can’t get a refund because he can no longer sell the product. I told him that I can no longer use the product because it is not what was advertised to me after which he said ā€œI’m sure you can still use itā€ with some attitude on it. He put the blame on me for not noticing a bundle was missing but also said that he’s worked there a long time and if anything was off he would have noticed. It felt like he was trying to say that I stole the missing bundle. When I suggested that it might have been a manufacturing error he again said ā€œnot possibleā€, but when I said that it felt like he was accusing me of stealing he said he was not. The only possibilities are a manufacturing error, or that the bundle was stolen by me. Both of which he was denying while making what felt like slight accusations. He gave me a partial refund for the missing bundle but I still didn’t get the product that was advertised to me and was blamed for opening it in the first place. I understand from his perspective, somebody could have easily stolen a bundle and tried to get the full refund. Like I mentioned though, I have been a repeat customer for years now, along with my sisters, my mom, and our family friends and we have done our best to support the business and it sucks to feel like I am not trusted when I have a genuine issue with the product. Knowing this I will not be coming back again knowing i have to do quality control on every product before i buy it. I’m incredibly disappointed. Will not be coming...

I would like to begin by saying people behind the cash ASSUME the worst intention of customers, and dont offer the BENEFIT OF THE DOUBT, that there are other reasons for things occurring. Please note that I am a repeat customer and I have never had a negative experience...until recently...the parking infront of the store does offer 3 parking spots, however, when trying to avoid oncoming traffic when turning left onto Water St, and then avoiding traffic to turn once again into the small area to pick up a few quick items, it is very difficult to see the yellow lines separating the parking spots. I also know that I have difficulty exiting and entering my car and need a wide door span to insure I dont fall, and to bring my cane out as needed. I also suffer from low blood sugar, making driving risky if I dont consume something to raise it up and allow it some reasonable time to notify the brain that there is food now...I was angrily gawked and yelled at for taking up 2 parking spots and then continuing to eat for 5 to 7mins after paying in store, so I could actually drive away safely. The assumption that I intentionally took up 2 parking spots, and that I was remaining there to make it difficult for more people to park and enter the store was apparent in the angry words and 'shooing away' hand gestures I encountered. Please educate your staff or come out and ask if everything is okay before treating people like unwelcome, theiving teenagers or garbage dump digging raccoons when on...

After spending hundreds of dollars there over a handful of visits buying hair extensions, I went in one evening appx 20 mins before closing and the owner was moping. I went to get hair glue remover(the visit before I had asked for remover but he gave me a different colored glue than I usually use and I had used the product trying to take out extensions and I failed to double-check the small writing on the label so I had a huge ball of glue in my hair from the day before) I proceeded to get the remover from where i thought it was kept downstairs to make sure it was remover and not more glue and he started yelling not to go down there. I said he could accompany me and he just kept saying "no come back tomorrow", that he was the only one working and couldn't watch me. As he's yelling 2 customers walk by me downstairs and I asked why they were allowed, he replied that they didn't have to be watched. I asked why not and he wouldn't give me an answer. I don't know if it was racism or bias judgement or what, but whatever his motives were, I felt vilified and mistreated.

SECOND REVIEW!! So I decided to revisit this store and I'm bbut they were friendly an somewhat helpfull. We went downstairs to check out the extentions and one employee came aswell and clearly was just following us around watching us. But I guess they were just doing theor job. They were polite, but they didn't have what I was looking for. Anyhow because of this better interation I am going to give them a...
