PLEASE AVOID THIS STORE THEY DON’T CARE FOR QUALITY
I purchased an ice cream cake at 10:37 pm and at 11:10pm the cake was cut for 2 year olds birthday. The 2 year old didn’t complain about cake but her elder brother on tasting said it’s bitter. On tasting the cake we found out that the cake sponge and ice cream were okay, however the decorative pink cream was bitter in taste. At 11:19pm the store was called about the issue and advised to bring back the cream. At 11:55pm the cream was returned to the store and a manager/ owner advised the cream is perfectly fine even without seeing it. Over the phone she insisted the cakes are absolutely fine and edible even though she was asked to have the cream tasted in front of me. She was completely rude and advised to bring the whole cake as is to the store which wasn’t possible because it was already cutter into pieces and pieces given to the store in box. The colour in the cake was so strong that even after washing the hands with shop it didn’t go off. See the photos below. The cashier was also informed about it and it was told it’s common. I have tried baskin robin cake multiple times but this is the worst experience ever. Please think before taking products from this particular store especially if it’s for the kids. The city will be notified as well. Luckily I didnt had it or else it could adverse effect on my expected baby.
Updated July 16:(after owner response) So, finally someone at least agreed that the cream is bitter in the below review. However, having a bitter cream which cannot be eaten is definitely an issue with your service of that particular cake. And your colour did take more than 24 hours to go fade. I went into this store to place an order for my dads birthday was interested in a specific cake (if possible as needed to serve about 10 people) at first she says no it only serves 6. I do ask is there any way to make it serve at least 8-10 no pressure as i totally understand if not would have been dissapointed but i get it. She then says you know we could just add and she walks over to the freezer and shows me a cake about the size she would add. I even say to her so we would have another layer of cake and ice cream we even disscussed how it might be to hard to cut through because its going to be high she says use a knife placed in hot water. We had a full conversation about it. The cake was 35.99 then she added another 24.99 for the additional. When i picked up the cake i wasnt the happiest because the presentation looked rushed they added a piece of chocolate on it that was so unporportioned it looked ridiculous i even asked if they could add writing to the top i was advised it would not look nice so i left it, so i already wasnt pleased. When I cut this cake there was only 1 thin layer of cake and a mountain of ice cream. When i contact her now she says no no thats not what i said, no no we do dont that. This little old lady acted so sweet and helpful suggested something charged me for it and didn't do it and then said she never said that. I paid before i left it was never about the money but it the principle dont sell me on something and do something different she wouldn't give me my money back she offered 1 pre pack which isnt even the value of the charge.    Read moreI went to this branch on Sep 7, 2020 at around 11 PM. I am giving it a one star due to pathetic customer service and the rude lady who was behind the counter. I basically left without placing an order!!
When I went to the store, I saw around 5 people inside it and I waited outside due to social distancing. While I was outside, a group of 4 people came in and they went inside the store and were told to leave and wait. So we all waited outside and I thought of checking in to see if I could go in. The lady behind the counter told me rudely to wait due to a cap of 5 people, so I went outside again and waited.
Then, I saw 1 person leave the store, so I again went inside to ask if her if it was okay for me to be there since we are now 5 people, and very rudely I was told to leave as the group of 4 arrived before me! Well, I was there before them! And I would not have had an issue to wait but I was told to leave for the 2nd time - rudely!
And then, to my surprise, I saw people walking into the store, breaking the norm of max of 5 people inside the store and this lady did not tell anyone to leave. She was serving everyone even though there were around 10 people there!
I felt humiliated by the behavior of this person. I left the store and will never go there again. I would suggest everyone not to go there as well - unless one wants to get insulted.
You need to train your staff to at least be polite to your customers. And apply uniform rules. I want to know why was I singled out?? The management should check the CCTV cameras to see what happened. Why were 10 people inside the store and only I told to leave every time. Are there rules that do not allow you to serve some people?
