Nestled in the heart of the city, this South Indian gem promises an authentic culinary experience that goes beyond expectations. Our visit was a delightful journey through flavors, textures, and aromas that transported us straight to the bustling streets of Mysore.
We started our meal with the Sweet Dahi Vada, a dish that beautifully balanced contrasting elements. The vadas were soft yet held their structure, soaking up the creamy yogurt without becoming soggy. The sweetness of the dish was subtle, allowing the tangy yogurt and fragrant spices to shine through. A generous drizzle of tamarind chutney added depth, while the hint of mustard seeds and curry leaves lent an authentic South Indian touch.
Next came the Mysore Bhaji Dosa, a dish that redefined comfort food. The dosa itself had a delightful crispness, providing the perfect contrast to the warm, spiced potato filling. The bhaji was expertly seasoned, with just the right level of heat and a rich aroma that lingered with every bite. Paired with their vibrant, coconut chutney and a deeply flavorful sambar, this dosa was a hearty, satisfying experience.
However, the true highlight of the meal was the Mysore Paper Dosa. This was, without exaggeration, one of the finest dosas I have ever had the pleasure of tasting. The dosa was exquisitely thin and crisp, with an irresistible golden hue that hinted at the mastery behind its preparation. The potato masala inside was a revelation—fluffy, well-spiced, and cooked to perfection, making every bite an explosion of flavor. The accompanying sambar was a showstopper in its own right, rich in spices and layered with complexity. Every spoonful brought a wave of warmth and satisfaction, leaving me eager for more.
To round off the meal, we opted for their Filtered Coffee, a true testament to South Indian coffee culture. Served in the traditional steel tumbler and dabarah, the coffee was bold, aromatic, and frothed to perfection. The balance between bitterness and sweetness was spot on, making it the ideal way to conclude such a flavorful feast.
One thing that truly stood out about this establishment was the portion sizes—generous to say the least. Every dish was served with an abundance that ensured not only hunger was satisfied but the soul was nourished as well.
Beyond the food, the ambience was well-maintained, clean, and inviting. Service was efficient, with the staff demonstrating attentiveness and knowledge about the menu. The only caveat was the need for a pre-booked table, but considering the quality of food and experience, it was a small price to pay for an otherwise impeccable dining experience.
In conclusion, this restaurant is a haven for dosa lovers and South Indian cuisine enthusiasts alike. Whether you’re craving crispy dosas, rich sambar, or a comforting cup of filter coffee, this place delivers on all fronts. Highly recommended for anyone looking to indulge in a truly authentic and satisfying South...
Read moreWe where two people, and when we enter the restaurant they told us there’s is almost 1 hr waiting, but lot of people had suggested it to us, so we decide to wait for the food, After waiting for that period, we enter and order our food, and we also had ToGo order which they say we have to order on the other side of the restaurant, which is quite non functional and really annoying.
First thing that showed up in our order was Lassis, and it was nothing more than a sweet Chass “sweet butter milk” and thin as water, but for south Indian restaurant we can’t complain much.
Second thing in our order is uppma, but it was nothing extra ordinary and or special, it is almost tasteless like a homemade khichdi, with that we order spicy chutney, but that to nothing closes to south Indian chutneys other south Indian restaurants offer, and sambhar doesn’t even taste like a sambhar of a restaurant which makes you wait for almost a hour.
After that a server showed up to our table with a two plates, but only kept one and moved on to the other table, and then other server showed up just behind him the same way with two plates of dosa and kept one and moved on to the other table, which I don’t understand how complicated it would have been to coordinate two plates of dosa by a server, but not the server’s fault as they are only low paid Indian international students who are almost exploited by there own.
For out main meal, we order two Mysore dosa, one extra spicy, and one normal and honestly they are okay, like I didn’t feel that kick of flavor in my mouth when eat something extraordinary, and the Dosas where really oily, and the potato filling didn’t taste good so we removed it from both the Dosas and left it uneaten.
And lastly we order a plain Rava dosa, and they weren’t like authentic Rava dosa and like other ones, this was also really oily.
In total food was okays and nothing special in anyway, and not at all worth all this hype and special the waiting time, and the complications of ordering ToGo food, and not so delicious taste of the food led us not to order anything from there and we drive straight to Desi Bar & Grill for...

Visited the place with family for Sunday lunch. The place was packed but service was quick. Will never advise to go without appointment.
Here is my food list:
Paneer Dosa ** Pao Bhaji Dosa * Veg spring Masala (garlic) Dosa * M&M Dosa * Ghee Dosa *
No complain regarding food. However, I think it needs to review service policy as the server visited our table thrice if he can clean up and free up the table. This is fine dining place and there is limit of 45 mins for each table but we were their hardly for 30 mins.

I fully agree that this is challenging time for restaurants and we wants to fully support them and buy local. Went to Guru Lukshmi which is my favourite place to get dinners. We waited for 60 mins for our orders as I can understand kitchen position. I went back home and opened my bags. It is very disappointing to find that they did not pack sambhar. I went back again and complained about this mistake. I had guests at home and it was 15 mins drive. It was really surprising to see staff attitude and they told me causally that they forgot it. One more customer standing before me had the same issue. I wish that they can improve their customer services and train staff to handle these situations. This seems now a normal problem for them and should spend time to improve their process. Above all, don’t treat customer’s causally. Respect their time and money. Advise to everyone - if you are picking your order. Make sure that they...
