Ruby Cofia — Local services in Montreal

After inquiring for the price for full service (wash/cut/dry), I emailed to ask whether there was a price difference between the $59 service vs. just for cut. She emailed to ask me specifically how much I would like to pay. As a student, I said $35 would be more reasonable for me. She could simply have renegotiated (since she began the process) or declined. Rather, she sent a long email telling me that I insulted and devalued her service. This is difficult to do, as I have no way to evaluate a service I never received nor was given details about. I was simply told that her 'golden age' customers even paid at least $40. Again, had she simply declined, I would have been fine to just look elsewhere. By the way, her argument that lower prices do not exist in downtown Montreal is false. I found at least one other salon that offers $30 service for cut only (across the street!) and other places that offer student discounts near Concordia. So, I am unable to review her service but am instead giving feedback on the albeit limited, but low quality of customer service I received. Ruby and all her staffs are amazing! I couldn’t believe that I can get my hair beautifully done with my new borned baby cry all the way through in the salon. Ruby even helped to hold and calm down my baby by humming Korean nursery rhymes. She definitely is a wonderful mum too!!! I really like my new hair. I would definitely recommend this salon! I didn't have a concrete idea of what hairstyle I wanted but Ruby has a great eye and recommended a style that answered every desire that I had, that also keeps up with recent trends. She is extremely knowledgeable and exemplifies the difference between a stylist vs a hairdresser. She also took the time to explain the cut to me afterwards, and offered good advice/answered my questions on how to care for my hair after.
