Ive been dealing with Staples for quite awhile now for several reasons. A new project that requires alot of copying/printing, I have a terrible printer and Staples is less than a block away from where I live. If I do my own work at the printers that are available there's really never been an issue. As for the counter help, it's a hit or miss and this evening was a Big Miss! Went to the counter to get assistance with a letter size poster that I needed smaller size. Usually I have it done before hand but I was pressed for time(which is the Only reason I go to the counter). There was a couple waiting and the female behind the counter was busy doing the closing routine. I waited patiently for a few minutes but after she walked right by me at least twice with Zero acknowledgement I started to get annoyed(btw it was only 7:25 didn't close til 8). I asked the couple if they had been served and said no but they were at least told to "please be patient". Even when she had someone come over and help with collecting the garbage, she still went on with what she was doing and by this time there was another couple waiting. Now whether this is store policy or what she just decided to do, it's wrong. I've been in retail for almost 15yrs with the same company and one of our top priorities is customer service! I'm fully aware things happen, it gets busy, but a customer should always be addressed one way or another. When she finally did help me there was no apology for the wait but she was at least affable. When it came time to pay she asked someone else to ring it through and made a point to tell her to add a "handling fee". Less than 2 wks ago I had been in for the same request except this time it was b&w instead of color, so I expected it to be less but it was more and I asked why and she said the "handling fee" which quite honestly they should call it the B.S. fee. They already charge a "1hr total Doc Service"fee plus a "letter" fee for less than 2 minutes of work and 1 sheet of paper. If I wasn't already annoyed with the poor customer service(and that's putting it nicely) I would have said something but I was DONE and needed to get out of there. Most of the employees don't care. They know the customer is there because they Need something important done and that it's the only Staples in Niagara and I truly think they take...
Read moreI went to the Staples on Morrison in Niagara Falls, looking to print double sided colour copies for a brochure for my school project. I went in and asked a lady named Navneet to help me out. She told me that the price for each page was going to be 25¢ per side and I had a total of 250 sides. This amounts to $62.5. I waited for her to finish the job, and when I was ready to pay, she said that each side was charged at 84¢. I didn't understand why she had initially told me that it was 25¢ and I didn't have $210 plus taxes to pay for my copies. When I asked if we could void the transaction, she said it wasn't possible. I told her to call the manager, James. I told him the situation and he was asking the associate, Navneet, for advice on how to proceed with the situation despite being the manager of the store. I asked if he could void the transaction, he said he couldn't but he could charge 75¢ per side instead. I still didn't have $180 as I am a university student. When I told him this, and my dad tried to talk to him on the phone, he said he isn't going to talk to him and will call the police on me. I had an exam the next day, and I did not have time to wait for the cops to handle the situation. I asked my grandmother to pay for it instead, and she gladly gave me the $200.
I feel the situation wasn't handled in a professional manner, and I should've been clarified on the price before the transaction was done. I also did not appreciate how James (manager) did not hear my side of the story and instead concluded to calling the...
Read moreOn July 17th, 2025 I placed an online order for a printer and paper for store pickup. Recieved confirmation that evening stating that both items were in stock, I arrived on July 18th, 2025 to pick them up. Upon arriving they were unable to find my order, calling the manager Derek to assist. Derek stated that the printers in stock were "defective" and didn't want to sell them to me, which is fair. My only question is, why did I not recieve a call, follow up e-mail, ANYTHING stating the printer wasn't in stock? That had to be the silliest situation I've encountered, if I've ordered paper, I probably need the printer.... The manager stated he was going to help me find another printer, shortly passing me over to an associate. Being annoyed at this point, I asked for a refund of my order so I can purchase a printer as I needed it for school. Upon going to the front again stating my frustrations as I live in Fort Erie (25 minutes) out of town and driving to waste my time and gas is unacceptable. They didn't even offer to see if another store had it, if I wanted it delivered instead. I asked for proof of refund as nothing was recieved (email) and Derek asks if I've checked my account. He spoke to me as if I was a child. He couldn't offer this stating "Ma'am I've been doing this for years, we've never were dishonest with a customer" Thanks Derek, that wasn't what I was asking. It was a business expense and a reciept or proof of refund was needed. Save yourself the headache, my order wasn’t even cancelled that...
