I recently visited Thomas Haas coffee shop and had the pleasure of trying their almond croissant. As soon as I walked into the shop, I was greeted by the sweet aroma of fresh pastries and coffee. The cozy ambiance of the shop with its rustic decor, warm lighting, and wooden furnishings was very inviting and set the tone for an enjoyable experience.
I ordered the almond croissant, which came out piping hot and with a golden-brown exterior that was visually appealing. The croissant was soft on the inside with a delicate buttery texture that melted in my mouth. The almond filling was generously spread throughout the croissant, giving every bite an exquisite taste of the rich, nutty flavor. I could tell that the ingredients used in the making of the almond croissant were of the highest quality.
The staff at Thomas Haas coffee shop were friendly and welcoming, which added to the overall pleasant experience. They were knowledgeable and passionate about their products and were more than happy to recommend other items on their menu.
The coffee shop itself is also charming and cozy, with ample seating space, including a patio area that overlooks the street. The decor and ambiance of the shop created a warm and relaxing atmosphere that made it the perfect place to unwind and enjoy a cup of coffee and pastry.
I would highly recommend Thomas Haas coffee shop and their almond croissant. It is a must-try for anyone looking for a delectable pastry experience. The quality of the ingredients, coupled with the friendly staff and cozy ambiance, make for a truly exceptional experience. I can't wait to return to try their other pastries and...
Read moreVictims of their own success. Cakes are gorgeous, the Aztec hot chocolate is perfection, the pastries and chocolates are pretty good (but we prefer Chez Christophe and Xoco in Squamish, respectively), but the design and flow of their small space leaves a lot to be desired, as the queue to place an order occupies the same space as the people waiting for their orders, so you have to shove to get anything. If there was a non-"big name" bakery next to the dog park, we'd go there instead. It also seems absurd to be closed on a Sunday.
The past Saturday we ordered the two Hot Chocolate Festival options (the Black Forest is especially good), but it seems that after giving us our food, they just tossed our order card into the done pile and didn't bother to make our drinks til, after 15 minutes and realising people who arrived way after us were being served, I made a fuss. In a busy place, mistakes happen, but the sensible customer service thing to do is to profusely apologise and toss in a freebie: "I am so sorry for the mixup, please have an extra brownie with our apologies". Instead, not only was there no apology, but when they did eventually make our drinks, we were not even given the brownies that were supposed to come with the hot chocolates.
All in all, the tasty goodies just outweigh the inconvenience of having to fight crowds and staff apathy, but Thomas Haas should reconsider its priorities and make some changes, rather than just relying on...
Read moreThe pastries are delicious(double baked almond croissant is pure heaven), the packaged chocolate bars are delicious, the drinks are..... inconsistent. I usually get a mocha, and depending on the barista who is making it can either be amazing or completely disappointing. The products they have here is VERY expensive but generally very tasty, fresh and high quality.
They also need to consider finding a larger location to serve the amount of people that they have going there. The place is way too small and way too busy. The experience of going there would be more enjoyable for everyone if you didn't have to rub up against and squeeze past everyone around you to order, pay and wait for your drinks. The process of ordering drinks is inefficient and so annoying because you have to squeeze past people to line up, then squeeze past people to go wait for your drink, and then you are stuck in the back corner with your drink having to squeeze your way back out to the door to leave. It violates your personal space and other people's personal space.
I could NEVER sit here and try to enjoy a coffee and light snack. I don't know how or why anyone else would given how cramped...
