I had the 'Gemstone Clay Wrap' Body Treatment for the first time and it was an incredible experience. I didn't want it to end. Cecilia was absolutely lovely. Professional ...talked me through the entire experience at the beginning of the treatment and made me feel very comfortable. She also allowed me to enjoy the quiet of the treatment and I felt no pressure to chit chat with her.
As an FYI I showered and used the shower and steam room before the treatment as recommended by the front desk. Take a clip with you to keep your hair from getting dry so that after the treatment you can use the hairdryer etc.
The treatment itself was just amazing from start to finish beginning with a dry brush over your body followed by warm clay all over. Your face gets cleansed and toned followed by the warm clay and warm eye patches. Your body gets cocooned in plastic wrap and additional towels or sheets of some kind. There is a heated pad underneath you the entire time which is heaven. Once the clay is all over you get a duvet placed on top of you which just makes you sooo relaxed! In the meantime you can have a foot or head massage for which I opted for a foot rub. There is a shower in the room to take off the clay. Cecilia was mindful of putting a towel over my head and a shower cap before I showered. Once the clay is off you lie back on the bed still heated and the duvet comes back on you and your entire body gets lotion and your face gets moisturized and a tinted SPF moisturizer gets put on. You feel totally relaxed at the end. I do wish Spa Utopia still gave out wine at the end of the treatment. This was just a nice touch I really enjoyed in the past.
I can't wait to come back and do it all again and I would 150% ask for Cecilia. My skin all over feels so soft today. Thanks so much. I'm a busy mum of 2 and caregiver to my 91 year old mum and this was a treat for me to have some time for myself and completely relax.
I do wish that once the clay has been put on you and your face and the duvet is on you, that 5 mins was given just to enjoy it all (this step was just wonderful) before moving on to the next step making the treatment 75 mins instead of 70. Overall, I had a blissful time and so glad I decided to switch things up from a massage. You'll never opt for any other...
Read moreI don’t normally leave reviews on bad experiences, and I apologize in advance for leaving this one, but I had to be honest with my experience.
My friends and I were hoping to get a birthday gift for a friend and decided on this spa, and to also do a spa getaway together for her bday. Upon seeing the prices of the menu of services at Pan Pacific Spa Utopia, I decided on a pedicure because it seemed the cheapest of the options.
I’ve gotten many pedicures in my life and have never seen a price this high. I figured it must be the best pedicure you could ever get.
Upon arrival the woman was kind and asked me what I wanted with my toes. I asked to a regular pedicure as I ordered.
She spent a while on various parts of the pedicure, but nothing special. When she did get to painting, I felt like she didn’t do a very good job in coverage. I didn’t get a hot towel or anything like that… maybe a minor massage but I wasn’t impressed. I even noticed a lot of the dirt was left under my nails and painted over. I felt like it was a very basic, low end pedicure, not at all worth what I paid.
At the end I was so floored by the cost. 139$ for that kind of treatment was insane. I’m sure you can use the facilities and that’s why they charge you, but after our nails we were told not to use the steam room or sauna because they were concerned our nails might bubble? Anyway, about two hours after my pedicure I noticed it was already chipping anyway….
Personally, I would not return to this facility based on the price of their pedicure. I have gotten pedicures 1/3 of the price that have been better than this business. Sure, the snacks and everything is nice, but that’s an insane overcharge. I know some wonderful people work at this establishment (I met some great people today) but I don’t think the price reflects what is given. I’m so sorry to say that as the people are lovely! But it is an insane price for the majority of the services given, and I am sorry to leave a negative review, but here I am. Inflation is crazy, but better places have popped up all over the downtown area that are half this price and just as good, and I’d go there instead.
If you’re willing to spend more, get a massage or something, but don’t go for the pedicure. But don’t take the negative reviews lightly-...
Read moreThis spa can only be described as overpriced and disappointing. Save your money (which this cost lots of – it’s Scandinave Whistler pricing!) and go anywhere else in Vancouver.
This was the most disappointing spa experience I’ve ever had. The spa is priced as a luxury experience, but this is FAR from that. My partner and I went to celebrate his birthday. We were rushed through the check-in experience and sent to the spa. We both got massages, mine with an RMT and his with a non-registered masseuse. The massage itself was fine, nothing noteworthy really. With the price you’re paying for the massage however, I expect decent amenities or a space which you can enjoy for a period. This was not the case. The spa is completely underwhelming. The steam and sauna rooms are located within the changerooms of the men & women’s change area. Steam and sauna rooms are tiny. Sauna in the women’s changeroom wasn’t very hot. Steam room looked like the room was going to cave in and was not the eucalyptus steam room that was described, I’m told it was the same in the men’s change room. The “spa lounge” I can best describe as a Best Western lounge with the lights dimmed. “Snacks” are the equivalent of a bulk food section - mandarin organs, dried apricots, and almonds. The menus across the lounge say there are non-alcoholic mimosas, but they were no where to be found. We were offered one after our massage and that was it. There’s drip coffee (with no brew time listed) from a catering pump and an assortment of tea bags. The cucumber and lemon water also barely lives up to the name. Lemon and cucumber are available in a jar beside the water cooler for you to mix yourself. Furniture is dingy and awkwardly laid out, and the room is slightly cold, so it’s not comfortable to lounge in. But hey, there’s a full boardroom available should you need it? The women’s change rooms are also very awkwardly laid out. The plug is under the counter, so you must crawl down to access them. They also don’t support GFCI plugs (the bigger plugs that have the reset button on them), so I ended up standing in a hallway with no mirror trying to straighten my hair. Experience was sub-par through...
