CT EXECS, WAKE UP BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE.
Edit July 2025: Went running to this CT to get a 1/4" rivet tool. The tool doesn't come with rivets and they don't sell the 1/4 inch rivets, so once again, I came out of the store without a tool and an Amazon order. I spoke to Manager and she couldn't care less. My point was, I made a trip here for the tool and wasted time, so either sell the tool with it's rivets, or don't offer the tool at all... Crickets... CT is doing a "The Bay".
Tool: Mastercraft 16-in Hand Riveter with 5 Nosepieces#058-0098-2
Original review:
Canadians need Canadian Tire store, we want them to stay afloat, but you need to seriously give yourself a shake with your pricing.
CT is becoming a "convenience store pricing" outlet and fleecing their customers.
Last 3 visits I came out without buying anything because I will not pay their exhorbitant pricing.
As I write this, I left the store while buying from Amazon 125$ worth of supplies that were just too overpriced in store.
As a consumer, i am willing to pay 10-15% more to provide local jobs to my fellow compatriots, but not as per examples below:
18 AWG automotive wire: CT was 25.00$ for 25 feet or 1.00$ per foot (1 reel of black and one red) and Amazon was 20.99$ for 100 feet, so CT was 376% more expensive.
Mini (car) fuses: LittelFuse assortment mini blade kit of 6 fuses was 9.99$ or 1.67$ per fuse and I got instead a 300 assortment on Amazon for 19.99$ or 0.07$ per fuse, so CT was 2285% more expensive.
I am about to buy a core-flux welding machine, so Amazon beats CT on all those, but I'll compare to Harbor Freight, lovely 1 hour drive on the other side... CT Mastercraft 120V core-flux is 270.00$ and the (very well rated and reviewed) Titanium Easy-Flux is 149.99$ USD or about 202$ canadian, so CT is 38% more expensive than comparable brick and mortar store... and going on the other side of the falls is a lovely drive and can also stop at Target.
Conclusion: Canadians need and want Canadian Tire, but your greed is showing and you need to take a serious look at yourselves in the mirror as your pricing is outrageous...
Read moreLast Tue, I had to dropped in this location to pick up an Olfa knife for my husband and a few packages of 4 inch wood screws. The girl that was working in that department was useless and so impolite. I asked for the Olfa knife behind the glass case, she wouldn't give me the knife and she treated me as though I would steal it. At Home Depot or Lowes or Home Hardware, you wouldn't have to ask for their assistance, I told her she can hold on to it if she was that suspicious, but help me find the screws I needed. She left me standing at the isle 33 for 7 min waiting. I had to asked a customer to help me.......manager need to re-train this staff......
I had to go back to this location because we were in Oakville doing trimmings for 19 windows for 8 days.
Carelessly, on Thu I drove my husband's Dodge Ram on empty to get materials for the job we were doing (drove to Home Depot and Canadian Tire). My car died on me on a rainy day, I had to leave the truck on Dorval and Leewood Drive and walked to Canadian Tire to get a Jerry can and some gas soaked from the rain. I asked customer service if I can use their cart to push a full can of 25L of gas to my car and I would return the cart later. I was surprised they didn't have a problem with that.
Wow........I was very thankful for their understanding and grateful for their use of the cart. Many drivers drove past honking at me for blocking a lane.......no one stop to help but shout out some rude comments. I didn't give a damn about the honking, I was very glad Canadian Tire had employed some great folks at customer...
Read moreScam at Canadian Tire: I went into Canadian Tire on Kerr st. on June 25, 2018 to get an emission test done on my car, Cadillac Escalade, which is well maintained and in excellent condition. When I gave my car and keys over to them, I was told to wait for 20 minutes. As I was sitting in the waiting lobby, I watched as an employee go in my car, start it, sit in the driver seat for a few seconds, turn off the car, and return to the main building. I was confused but continued waiting. After some time, I went to the counter to ask for an update, I was informed that my exhaust system was completely gone and leaking and that I needed to replace it. I am sure that no one else even looked at my car while I was waiting. They told me the job would be very expensive and gave me a local car garage shop business card to get it fixed at. I didn’t trust them since no one can check the exhaust system from the driver seat within a couple seconds, so I went to another nearby shop and asked them to do the exact same emission test. The second shop told me everything was in perfect condition and there was no leak. I really feel disappointed at such a big and normally trustworthy company such as Canadian Tire would try and cheat their customers and I feel that this should be brought to...
