Nostalgia Latin Market — Local services in Oakville

As someone who moved to the area from Louisiana and Texas, I missed Tex-Mex food (I know what I got used to there wasn’t authentic Mexican). Finding basic staples like good refried beans, good corn tortillas, and good Mexican rice is difficult. I finally made my way to their market and was blown away by the selection.

For me, the show stealer were the tamales. That’s what I was looking for most and was able to pick up pork tamales and chicken mole tamales and they were absolutely delicious. I was also surprised at how big they were! There are four to a pack, which might not sound like much, but they are really big. Not to mention, delicious.

Their pre-cooked chicken is an excellent filler when you need to make something quickly. And their canned goods selection is excellent. On my trip, I was able to pick up excellent refried beans, enchilada sauce, adobo sauce, mole, Tortillas, and more.

Nostalgia is an incredible spot if you're looking for hard to find, authentic, Latin/Mexican ingredients. After moving from Toronto to Oakville, I was so happy to have stumbled across this store. Their take-out pre-made food is incredible, and is amazing for entertaining at home with minimal effort and brilliant results. Raul (sp?) and everyone there are incredibly friendly and helpful.
