Imagine Cinemas St. Laurent suits most of my movie-watching needs perfectly, the screens are big enough for me, the seats are comfortable enough for me, the price is low enough for me to go even on days that aren't cheap Tuesday without worrying too much about how much is left in my wallet, and, best of all, all the screenings are in 2D. (3D gives me a headache.)

The downside is that it's a second-run theatre so you generally have to wait a couple of months to watch most big movies but I don't mind waiting a while to watch blockbuster-type movies anyway as I'm averse to opening weekend crowds and I'm not someone bothered by reading spoilers.

I've also seen arthouse and even anime films here, so Imagine doesn't just show movies that were in the top 3 of the Box Office Mojo weekend charts 2 or 3 months beforehand.

I do miss the mural this theatre had besides the entrance back when it was still Rainbow, but I did have the foresight to have taken a picture of it which...

I have visited this multiplex a couple of times to watch South Indian movies, since some of them don’t get released in bigger chains like Landmark Cinemas or Cineplex. The area is maintained clean and tidy, which is good.

The seating system, however, is quite basic. The seats are arranged on a sloped floor instead of proper steps. Because of this, if you drop your phone or anything else, it slides down to the rows below. Overall, the seating feels average.

The sound system in the screens I visited was disappointing. Don’t expect anything like Dolby or premium audio quality. For the ticket price (for South Indian movies), which was higher than what I usually pay at Landmark or Cineplex, the sound quality felt subpar. I hope they take this seriously and make improvements.

On the positive side, the food counter rates are reasonable, the restrooms in the St-Laurent complex are neat and tidy, and there is plenty of...

I LOVE going to Ciné Starz at St. Laurent. Not only are the prices so low and the popcorn delicious and plentiful, but being retired, it is great to be able to see a movie during the day while I am in town to go shopping. I don't have to make a special trip into the city at night. But the BEST thing about the St. Laurent Ciné Starz is the STAFF - they are always welcoming, helpful and efficient. They are also very patient with customers having trouble accessing their vaccination passports, or deciding which yummy food items they prefer. The theater is clean, well-maintained and the COVID protocols are fully in place in the lobby, cinema and bathrooms, so you know you are safe and well taken care of. I always look forward to my trips to Ciné Starz and am never disappointed :) Thank you to all the staff for being so...

If you missed checking out the latest movies in the theatres, you can watch them here! Imagine plays movies that movie theatres no longer play and play documentaries that movie theatres don’t play. It’s an older theatre, cozy with smaller screens so it gives you a “home” feel. Tickets and concessions are very affordable. I recommend this place if you’re in the St Laurent area!
