This place is horrible. From the atmosphere, to the food, to the service, as well as their ability to accommodate an allergy, this establishment did not fail to disappoint me. The main issue is the staff. They were very rude to me. I am celiac and cannot eat gluten, as it could cause me severe health problems, and I was asking them questions about the ingredients in their desserts. The girl replied with attitude, "if it says gluten free, then it's gluten free" which is NOT true. They served me a millionaire shortbread which was basically half melted, and when I went to go ask for a better one, she served me with the same tongs used for the pastries made with gluten (cross contamination, I could no longer eat the dessert). I ordered soup as well, with a request to have it gluten free. It arrived with a piece of bread next to it. They obviously did not care about my severe gluten allergy. I told the waitress and she replied in a snarky way "well it would've been nice to know that you were celiac. This place isn't really gluten free, theres flour in the air everywhere." I don't know how many times I have told them that I was gluten free, and getting attitude about it. None of the workers were nice, they were all inpatient, snobby, and not friendly at all. Me and my grandmother felt uncomfortable eating in there. Also, the food was nothing special. My iced mocha tasted like watered down chocolate milk, my grandmas soup was bland and had no flavour, and my shortbread bar was very greasy. Needless to say, I will be going to other establishments from now on that are more competent in dealing with food allergies, and that don't treat their customers like they are the scum...

Read moreThe sass and âtude of the lady this morning on July 6, 2021 (and now November 1, 2021) was next level! She wouldnât last 15 minutes working for me. Come here for self-inflicted buyersâ remorse. I thought the first time was a one-off, but the roots have teeth, and the apple will neâer fall far from the tree. My doorstop has more class. I provided ample cues and time for the customer service disgrace to be salvaged, and she took that as license to amp up the passive aggression. This definitely falls within the wheelhouse of long and committed therapy. Being a nice guy, I looked out for any glimmer of a redemptive quality, and so I stared into that abyss, and said âheyâ. The abyss didnât say anything back. It was chewing bubble gum. And so I left, dismayed at the realisation there was no hope, but small comfort that it is only by the grace of God the operation of a card reader does not require communication skills. One needs to know to stop when youâre still only a few steps behind.
And then I took a bite out of the croissant sandwich. It is a good sandwich, and so alas, there exists some potential. And food can still taste good in the absence of interpersonal acumen.
Sorry, but the damage is...
