Everytime I go to Walmart I'm frustrated. Why did I come here? I walk in aat night and the super bright white fluorescent lights are painfull on tge eyes. There was actually another customer wearing his sunglasses... And no, not that 80s song "I wear my sunglasses at night ". I notice the Loblaws, just further down has lights with a yellow hue. (P.s.: lights affect sleep cycles, including the workers... via melatonin. This natural substance has an oncological affect, it prevents cancer... This is a health hazard.)
The speakers were awfull. They are WAY TO LOUD in the produce and grocery sections. I actually needed to plug my ears at least 2-3 times. I believe they may actually be at dangerous health level. No mater the case, it causes undo stress and anxiety to customers and probably personnel when a Loud voice "screams out". This is another health hazard. I will not be recommending this place to anyone. The worst part, the guy doing the "Attention Customers" used a scary, overly slow/reactive, almost child like/"retarded" and I don't care talk, just get out of the store "we're closing" partvoice. To agrevate the situation, the annoucement was done probably every 5 minutes from 10h30 pm. "The store will be closing in 25 minutes". This is ridiculous. Walmart used to have greaters and still does at this store... They could provide "a friendly reminder" to people entering the store. (The text could actually say, just a friendly reminder). Once at the front, I actually noticed, it was a young white self entitled man. The guy at one point even sat on the counter, seemingly impatient, not knowing what to do when he coukd have been helping his colleagues or customers. He need to be tought, and put in his place and how to be respectful and hold himself up with proper maners. I jokingly shouted out to the man, "An français maintenant... now in french... SVP"... as the amount of time it took him to do the english, if he added french, woukd probably bring him back to having to redo the next 5 minute annoucement. Lol.
Luckily, I decided to pick up a new fruit... Tarada or something along that name. A green, lemony/tart, cucumber looking fruit. When I got to the cash, a very nice cultured cashier, Manoj, was able to teach me that this fruit is used to make a slecial rice within his culture. Just cook it up with rice! Sometimes you get lucky and find a gem through out the caos. Luckily, and jokingly, I told the other customers in line... you see, now because of this awesome guy, I have to give my review an extra star!! :)
The greater and security guard where visibly tired but very polite in their farewell. The entrance/exit looked really clean compared to normal.
I'm always afraid of parking and the possibility of damage my car... some peeps don't park very well and the lighting in the parkinglot is awfull. For security reasons... (begin sarcasm) maybe they could take some of those indoor lights outdoors. The spaces should be enlarged a little for those "I don't care, I can take two spaces, in a hury rude.people that speed and believe they'rs above the law... not just for them, but because of.them and for us."
I noticed some safety changes in the toy section... Great! Now parents can see their kids. The shelves are all half shelves... fabulouz.
Now if they can just turn down the speakers, dim the lights at night, train some of the emoloyees with perhaps a mentor to be polite, change the closing policy annoucement and the annoucement, improve outside security, maybe fire the manager and get someone who is a better wip. Ooh! I also forgot to mention the skids in the way... of the...
Read moreThe worst shopping experience ever! Today at the South Keys Walmart, 2210 Bank St, I picked three avocados labeled at $1.27 each. After leaving the store, I realized I was charged $1.67 each. I returned to double-check the price sign and then spoke to a cashier to get a refund for the difference. The cashier reviewed my receipt and the photo of the price sign I had taken, and initially said, "Congrats, you got the avocado for free!" However, she quickly corrected herself, saying only the first avocado was free. I didn't expect to get them for free; I just wanted the price difference refunded. When she told me the first one was free, I recalled the "Scanner Price Accuracy" policy on Canada.ca, which states that if the scanned price of an item without a price tag is higher than the displayed price, the customer is entitled to receive the item free of charge if it's worth less than $10, or receive a $10 reduction if it's worth more than $10. I showed this information to the cashier, who said she had heard about the first item being free from a friend but would check with a coworker. An older lady confirmed it was only the first item, so I asked to speak to the manager. The assistant manager came over, and after hearing the situation, he initially tried to explain Walmart's policy. I insisted they follow the Government of Canada’s code, as my purchase was under $10 and I wasn’t at fault. I informed him I would record our conversation to protect my rights. He then said, "I will make an exception today and give you all your mischarged avocados for free." The assistant manager instructed the older lady to process the refund, but she hesitated, suggesting I might take advantage by buying more avocados. I lost my temper, stating that I wasn’t trying to scam the store, just seeking what I was entitled to. I told them if they didn’t want to honor the policy, they should ensure all prices are accurate. I will never shop at that location again. Always check your bill after paying. If you encounter a similar issue, refer to the "Scanner Price Accuracy" policy from the...
Read moreDO NOT BUY ELECTRONICS AT THIS STORE . Went to the store today for some cleaning products and decided to stop by the gaming section to look at headsets. Decided to pick up the PDP LV50 Wireless Headset (100$) and asked the seemingly entitled and patronizing staff for the return policy to which her reply was "no return on headsets during COVID". "Fair enough" I thought to myself, and proceeded to purchase the headsets. I wanted to be able to game online since we're all stuck inside. Thank goodness I didn't pay for all my items there because when I went to the self-checkout for my cleaning products and used the same bag to store my items. I noticed there was a rip in the PDP headset box, and seemingly there was tape residue on the sides. I paid for my additional items and headed to the Customer Service desk and was greeted by a Glishan whom was very kind and helpful. I explained the situation, that I had bought a gaming headset moments ago being told there are no returns when it seems im buying a returned item. Glishan opened the box and to my surprise the headset itself were clearly used, with misplaced plastic covers and scratches. Im fine with the no return policy to mitigate the spread of COVID, but dont enstill a new policy you dont follow yourself. This is clearly an attempt to mislead customers, and today this tactic did not work. I hope that you may avoid this treacherous tactic. Full disclosure, I got my refund and will be purchasing them from Best Buy for the same price.
If you've made it this far, please like this comment to help other consumers from falling into this trap. It's the reason why I am leaving a review after all, be safe out there and know that this situation is temporary, there will be light at the end...
