If you're looking at Trade School (ie. 309A Apprenticeship's 10 week in-class portions) or one of the trades programs (ie. Welding and Fabrication Technician, Electrical Engineering Technician), Fleming is your spot. I attended Electrical Trade School here and I will be recommending it to anyone who asks. I tried to research the best trade schools in Ontario but it is difficult to find information, so this is why I'm here to write a detailed review.

Fleming has attracted very skilled, knowledgeable, experienced, and dedicated full-time professors who have in turn recruited other industry professionals to teach part time. As I have attended 3 other Ontario colleges, I can say Fleming is unique in the high quality talent they have for teachers (which in my opinion makes or breaks a student's experience). They have well-rounded experience and seem to go above and beyond for the students.

The college itself is beautiful with many renos and upgrades. Classrooms are spacious, comfortable. Technology is very on par with industry - critical for trades programs. I especially appreciated the motors lab (see photo) and the instrumentation lab. The instrumentation lab had individual stations set up that feature all the typical brand name instruments that I recognize from my workplace, piped in with tanks and pumps. Whoever built them knew really what they were doing. The Electronics / Communications & Monitoring Lab at the airport had all the oscilloscopes, meters, fire alarm panels, control panels necessary. Class sizes (15) were small enough that everyone has a work station. In Level 2, we didn't use The Skills Arena (Kube), but it simulates a detailed construction site, so that's pretty dope.

The library has private study rooms you can book. There are many places to sit and study throughout the building (some with partial privacy barricades). There is a computer lab. The library could use some technology upgrades like a 3D printer. College Book Store had all the textbooks and electronics lab kits we needed.

The campus property is nice with forest views and walking trails. Parking is plenty and affordable. Bus Route seems reliable. I have no insight on Residence.

Online learning portals (D2L and college website) are great for class material, handing in assignments, tracking marks, college email. I did not experience any glitches.

One negative feature of the college is their Food Services - their service staff is great, but the short hours, lack of healthy options or international food, and high pricing leaves a lot to be desired. It is hard to find a snack when you're studying past 5 or 6pm. I hope this gets remedied. The campus pub is great but closes early (4:30 I believe). It sometimes hosts evening events for the kids in residence. There are pool tables and draught beer, friendly student staff.

It is a huge shame that the college has cut the Culinary Program, as becoming a chef leads to direct, tangible careers and has the option of a Red Seal trade certification. The on-site restaurant was also fantastic and a great feature of the college. I hope this program gets reinstated.

I think a college's value is measured in their quality professors and the other details are less important. As long as Fleming continues to have these professionals, it is the...

BE AWARE NOT WORTH IT!!! I had taken the esthetics program at the Sutherland campus in peterbrough the one instructor sent me into a panic attack when she said and I quote " the thought of you wanting to go into medical pedicures scares me" and was told when I reported it that it was "just criticism" and nothing to be upset about! I had to go to the hospital due to the fact I couldn't breath due to the anxiety spiral she sent me into. I was in a car accident NOT LONG PRIOR as in the first semester still healing and so I couldnt move my lower body to rock back an forth on my feet due to pain and my body is too stiff didn't matter my hands were in the right position an properly done that was the only thing I couldn't do that an it didn't affect the massage qualitiy she failed me due to the fact I couldn't rock back an forth while doing the massage movement knowing I had been in a car accident an had got hurt. The fact I was reminding my classmates about the product ingredients and the benefits and skin types or steps to the treatment then having the instructor say I'm struggling to remember how does that work im reminding others but yet I didn't know an struggling? Also didn't matter the one company brand can say I can do it properly due to the fact I DID PRIOR TRAINING with that brand an they had nothing but positive feedback. Same instructor who tried saying I supposedly talk about my sex life an go in with dirty clothes... NOOOPE I refuse to re wear clothes I already wore so always clean clothes and why would I talk about my private life like that with anyone let alone my class mates like where or what would cause that impression I truly felt like I was being targeted.

Not to mention the ridiculous money wasting communications class doing blogs and reports when it doesn't apply to my program and industry AT ALL!! IM DOING PHYSICAL WORK NOT A BEAUTY BLOGER each time I had to re take it they had me paired me up with people who are in completely different programs an industry and expect me to work on a report with them it's hard to do when I don't have a clue of the topic the others had chosen. I'm only inputting client health history not writing large reports or blogging again it's not relivent at all.

I was so close to finishing but due to the communications class an massage movement I was told I couldn't continue the program 😭💔 It's all Ive been wanting to do my whole life when I know I have learning disabilities I put my every waking second into studying an memorizing it I had piles of flash cards and constantly reminding myself and I managed to memorize it all just to have the instructor tell me it scares me wanting to go further in the industry I TRIED TO GET EXTRA HELP HAVING MY IEP AND THEY DID NOTHING no tutoring nothing extra time and help NOOOOPE but I was supposed to...

Eight people in my firefighting program, accepted, than suddenly one week before program to begin. Told we made errors in payment structure and were bumped to waiting list. We accepted in May , paid tuition in June and subsequently leased housing for the year to find out suddenly we were not in program in Sept? NO one to answer questions or help us ?. Covid has been horrible enough , finally excited to start fresh and enter into field and study of my dreams only to have it ripped out at the last minute. Most of students also had student loans and NOW have government debt to be repaid with nothing to show for it . A mistake was made. But when same mistake was made by eight people , the information WASNT CLEAR!! There are several devoted students with not a word of guidance or assistance from Fleming to transition from high school into college post covid year. Fleming has lost both my business and respect. Kids have suffered enough this past few years. This was a horrendous experience. Whats worse is there was a chat room of all firefighting service students. The ones that were bumped are devastated and their peers replacing them the program are all in one group. Thank goodness I was accepted elsewhere. I will not be reapplying for next program. I hope others who read this stay clear of this dysfunctional and cruel treatment of young students and I pray that FLEMING grasps this is a difficult enough transition. I am new to college, I had not even started and I did make a mistake. Im human. There is such a thing as a phone. The error could have been rectified in as little as 30 seconds. Instead you devastate eight families and take away what little hope we had left for better days ahead. Its just MEAN !! I'm never one to write a bad review , but when speaking to main help line - I was told this happens every year ?? WHAT - How is this ok ? This is horrendous treatment and yet you continue to do it every year ........ rather than trying to aid your new students to success. This is ABUSIVE !! I certainly wish I knew before, hoping my review will help the next student, so they will not have to go through what we did. APPLY...

As a Pharmacy Technician student at Fleming College’s Sutherland Campus, I couldn’t be happier with my experience here. The campus is beautiful and well-maintained, providing a great environment for studying and socializing. The facilities are top-notch, especially the labs, which are equipped with the realistic technology and resources that are essential for our hands-on training. The instructors are knowledgeable and supportive. They bring a best attentive approach to the classroom, making the learning process engaging and relevant. The class sizes are suitable, meaning you get personalized attention, which has been invaluable for my studies. You would have enough knowledge to prepare for PEBC exam and advance further in your career after graduation. The campus community is welcoming and diverse, with plenty of opportunities to get involved in clubs and activities. This has helped me build a strong network of friends and professional contacts. Additionally, the support services, such as the library and career center, are excellent and have been a great help in my academic journey. Overall, Fleming College’s Sutherland Campus meet my expectations through my Journey. I feel well-prepared for my future career as a Pharmacy Technician, thanks to the comprehensive education and supportive environment here. Highly recommend!

I have made a right decision for choosing Fleming College with the major Early Childhood Education. I love to interact with the kids. It's fun and engaging in the active classroom learning environments. ECE faculty is amazing and supportive the students especially the international students. Especially as the Vietnamese student, one of the thing that I see the ECE program at Fleming is different from other college that integrate outdoor and connect children to the natural world. This is very meaningful activities for the young generation to value the importance of the nature for our life
