Abusive and toxic callers! my number was in someone's loan file just as an emergency contact or maybe referral person. I was contacted by fdr employees and the first person who called me told me he is calling from FBI!; I hung up , but again they called me and said from FBI ( which apparently it is a fraud, because they are not FBI ) and they asked if I am blah blah person; I politely explained to them that I am not the person they are looking for and I don't have any contact with the mentioned person anymore. But the rude and disgusting employees of FDR were insisting I am that person_ even though in the main person file clearly my name and number was as a referral!_ and they insist I will receive harassment calls from them. After their multiple calls a day started I told them I will call the police many times, but they just laughed at me and said go ahead! I called the police, and the police said they will go ahead and will call them to ask them to stop calling me. Also, the police advised me that if they continue to harass me I will have to go to the consumers protection ontario website and contact customer service and file a complaint and if necessary go to a civil court. consumer protection advised me to contact FDR by their website first and ask them to stop. I sent the following message to them, but in my surprise the calls continued: "Hello customer service, I recently received many calls from your company regarding a person called xxx. First your employees called and said they are from the FBI which is a fraud, because you are not FBI . I told them you are not FBI , this is a lie and if you call me again I will call the police for fraud, they said go ahead. So I called the police and that police said they are going to give your company a call to stop calling me. Also police advised me to file a complaint first in consumer protection Ontario and then in civil court if necessary for harassment. Then your employees called again and I told them I already called the police. I explained to your employees that I am not xxx and explained my name and number might have been for reference only. I also explained to the fdr employees that xxx had left Canada and I don't have any contact with him. If you and your employees or contractors continue calling me I reserve my rights to complain to consumer protection Ontario and any court." Because of continued calls I filed the complaint with consumer protection Ontario. omg! I received calls again from them, but I didn't answer and informed consumer protection Ontario. One day, one of fdr employees called and said if i am xxx again and i said go and listen to previous recordings , I am tired of explaining. and he said that they were contacted by consumer protection Ontario and they are going to stop calling me. Then after a couple of weeks I received a note from consumer protection ontario the fdr told them they will stop calling me, but in their email was FDR explanation that was full of lies! FDR told consumer protection that they only called me one time and after I told them I am not xxx person they stopped calling me! shameful and disgusting. Read moreAbsolutely no one on this planet enjoys dealing with creditors, especially when you've been forced into poverty and cannot afford to live and pay back your debts simultaneously. I am a woman with multiple disabilities and chronic illnesses, who was denied social assistance due to a physician's mistakes. I was candid with Destiny about my struggles, and she called to check up often. It was absolutely not harassment, she genuinely cares and attempts to resolve everything fairly.
Yesterday I had the pleasure of speaking with her again, a few weeks after we had spoken while I was hospitalized. I won my settlement with ODSP and as such, I was able to pay my debt in full. She was ecstatic, and not because I could pay. This woman was bursting with joy BECAUSE I HAD WON. You could hear it in her voice; I was able to tell her that a test from the fatal illness I was suffering from came back negative, and again she expressed an overwhelming happiness for me.
Her job is to collect, and she did, but she did so with kindness, empathy, grace, and without making me feel awful for being in dire financial straits. She was never condescending, she accommodated my disabilities (as did the entire company. Thank you Mr. Galanis), when I was upset, she was upset for me, and as expressed above, she was genuinely happy that my life is starting to settle in my favour. If I were to ever see her on the street, I'd have an overwhelming compulsion to hug her lol. She is not only an asset to this company, but to humanity itself.
To those complaining that staff has been rude, there are a few reasons why that could be. Perhaps it's your attitude? Perhaps they are jaded from being treated like garbage consistently? Some are just unkind. These are not excuses for them, but it is a call for you to search your mirrors and see if the problem is you, instead.
The world is dark enough as it is, there is no need to add more negativity. Do not forget who truly destroyed Canada (liberal Trudeau and conservative FORD - parties included to show that there's 0 distinction. Politicians are politicians, out for themselves), so please stop treating these people with disrespect. You want change? I just provided you with two names in this paragraph; write letters, sign petitions, do what you will to fix the world, your worlds. No one will do it for you.

Read moreFirst of all, I spoke to a gentleman named Sahil. I asked to speak to a manager as he wasn't a big boy and not approved to make negotiations directy by himself. Instead, he went back in fourth from myself and the manager when we could have eliminated the hold/interruptions in the call multiple times. He demanded I make the payment with him on the phone and then email him with the reference number through a screenshot of the online bank transaction. He said that I would receive the letter of payment within the hour. Now nearly 2 hours later and still nothing. I called back and was directed to his voice-mail 2 times. I finally reached a little girl who said it usually takes 24 hours to receive payment (I later found this to be a lie). If that's the case, why is Sahil telling me that I would receive it in the next hour. Very POOR customer service. I understand that it was an outstanding debt to begin with, but a persons word should be taken at face value. This does not feel right. No wonder so many people think they are running into scams when they are provided with inaccurate information about the debts they are trying to resolve. I suggest he has more training in customer service in order to make the client feel safe. UPDATE: I talked to two other people in their office the same day, they said that the little boy Sahil should not have told me I will be receiving it within 1 hour and that I will expect it within a 24 hour period. The next day (today) I call back (29 hours after payment was made) and I talk to different boy that said I will recieve it within 10 days and IMMEDIATELY hung up after I was asking another question. This whole office reminds me of a circus I went to as a kid that is full of clowns. They could CARE LESS about customer service and ONLY care about getting their money, even if that means blatantly LYING to their customers that are trying to make things right by coming forward with prior debts.
